Hey guys, first post here.
Does anyone still have an old Millichamp and Hall Distinction?
It was my dream bat as a teenager but obviously the price tag stretched far beyond the realms of acceptability for a birthday present.
Always wanted to know - how did it play? Was it as amazing as my 16 year old mind thought it might be?
If anyone knows of any dead stock or one still in good knick pls give me a shout’

Do they check bat sizes in your league? The Distinction wouldn't pass the gauge - also, was it the low middle or higher middle one?

Wish I'd kept the one I had!

Loved their Amplus. Never used a Distinction.

I’m sure we can all empathise with that thought! Something so strange about cricket kit when you’re a kid, it takes on a whole different meaning!

You won’t find any dead stock of that model very occasionally come up on EBay, there was one last year if I remember correctly. I had one they tended to be heavy weight and low middle.
Along with the Amplus they made two models that were fabulous bats actually made in Somerset. No one else had a shape like the distinction or Amplus with the high middle on our wickets it should not really work but it did. Unbelievable balance on the Amplus.
Things progress thou and change, when I was younger I thought M and H were the best I could buy maybe with Newbery and latterly Salix.
Today I don’t think I would use a Millichamp if I was given one.
They are overpriced and the marketing overtook the product years ago.

If you wanted to use the shape then worse ideas than getting a batmaker to make you up a copy. But I know the pull of the actual bat you dreamed of can be pretty strong!

I don't know if they do it anymore but Blank Bats did an Amplus style. Good bats.
