My Aero P2's have been falling apart for a few years, and have sown them back up several times. They are size small, as I'm quite short, but always felt they were a bit too small.
This season I've been promoted to the 1st's and opening. We recently played a team with a young lad who's been clocked as bowling in the mid 80's. He managed to hit me on my thigh and somehow managed to miss all the P2's protection. Massive bruise and struggled to even sleep on my side for days as a result.
So I'm looking to get a replacement set. Any recommendations what will offer good protection and coverage? Don't want the hassle of trying to gey hold of Remfry, but what others are worth considering?

The moonwalkr dual thigh guards are quite good.

Some retailers such as DKP and UZI may even have their own branded versions of the same thing.

If P2s aren't doing the job I'm not sure that Moonwalkr will be a great deal better. Very little between the 2 when I compared my Aeros to a set of MWs at nets.

Where to start with this.
FYI dealing with Remfry is really easy and you will get you order within 10 days.
Largely it depends on your budget and wants.
For traditional inner/outer thigh pad combo it is hard to look past remfry
However the GN Pro performance thigh pads are excellent.
If you want a combo type thing, there are loads of moonwalkr type thigh pads around, they are all pretty similar
Aero p1s are also very popular, and the Masuri body armour is getting increasingly popular with pros too.
The GM combo thigh pads are probably worth a look and would be one of my first choices, if I didn't have GN, Remfy and the SG thigh pad to choose from.
I feel like I have more thigh pads than bats at the moment.
Some of the combo body protection looks a bit bulky to me, hence why I go for a traditional inner and outer option.

Mine are 14-15 years old now and close to the end (but like me ) I love mind never had a bruise through them. I think they was some on eBay recently ?

Moonwalkr from Online Stockist v decent for £20 odd quid...

I'll check out some of these, including Remfry. Moonwalkr's look quite good as well as Masuri & GN, which look very similar. I've also seen Scott Cricket do a set that look almost the same. Anyone have any experience of these? Stretton's any good? Seem to get mixed reviews on here.

I have a pair on Moonwalkr's; the protection is very good. However, I find that they are always sliding down my leg and off my hip; so I constantly find myself pulling them up.
Unsure if this issue will occur with other pads; but just what I have found over the last few years. Am tempted to go back to some P2s that I had previously.

Padman shorts, pop the old-style strettons in the pockets and a jock strap over the top. The best comfort I've ever had from a thigh pad set up, and I'm almost as fussy as @Buzz when it comes to this...

If you can get them to fit the Stretton Fox thigh pads are the absolute business

Wear a pair of compression shorts over the top and you just forget you've got them on.

what size is the pocket in padman shorts, unsure if mines will fit?

I've got the P2's and new Strettons. I've found myself using the P2's in games, although I love the protection and style of the Stretton's and use them in nets (showing them off obviously!). The inner thigh pad of the Stretton's just feels too big on me (medium size). But I've been thinking about combining the Stretton thigh pad, with P2 inner.
Waaay too much thought on a piece of kit, that due to my rubbish tendency of getting turned around, the ball always misses and leaves a massive bruise anyway.

Anyone able to share opinions on sizing? My P2’s are on their way out after 15 or so years. I use a Large but how do the GN’s size in comparison? Moonwalkrs too?
Any assistance for a comparison would be greatly appreciated.
Don’t think I could justify a Remfry in the latter stages of a career!
Thanks in advance

The GN thigh pads come up quite big, I am 6ft 1 and they fit well.
-
How about P1s and a size up for more coverage? Higher speed rating on the P1 and they are very comfy.
-
Another vote for the Moonwalkrs. Excellent protection and very good value.
-
How do the moonwalkr v2 compare to a P1/P2? Are they as flexible?

I've had the V2s delivered but I won't be able to review them until I'm out of hospital unfortunately.
