Whats the rough % of getting a dud if you spend over 500 on a bat, obvioulsy risk of breakage etc , but if you say by a G1 Keeley , Pro h4l bat etc ,d o they all perform well?

Anyone who gives you a percentage is most likely plucking it out of their rear end. 😂 You're less likely to get a dud compared to an entry level bat I'd imagine, as the manufacturer would probably spend a bit more time making sure it was right if it's their top end bat, but you can never really tell. Some bits of wood just make better bats than others - key is to buy from someone reputable if you want a decent stick!

I'd say chances are 50/50 on any stick. However if you do buy from a reputabel brand and pick it yourself, chances shift in your favor. But they shift the other way much faster if you order online. I ordered 2 sticks online both same price (appx 400), 1 absolute gun, 2nd not even close. On the other hand picked up 2 SG -Sunny gold (abt 250 each) in shop, checked everything and both perform as expected.
And if we are talking about Just damage, then it can happen to any bat of any price from any brand/ manufacturer. So many other factors come into play for this issue.
