The much-trailed England multi-year contracts are out and there's some rogue goings on. Stokes has only signed for a year, Mark Wood got 3 years (clearly some strong negotiation), no deal for Jacks. Looks like Willey could be out in the cold after the WC, and Fisher/Turner appear to have leapfrogged the Overtons and Stone. Apparently noone turned a contract down.
Three-year contracts: Harry Brook, Joe Root, Mark Wood
Two-year contracts: Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Liam Livingstone, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes
One-year contracts: Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Ben Foakes, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley
Development contract: Matthew Fisher, Saqib Mahmood, John Turner

Wood is never making it another 3 years at his pace unless he is put in some Micheal Jackson type oxygen chamber between games.
Rumour is in fact Stokes has turned down a contract which would explain why it is just 1 year.
-
Interesting what’s stokes up to ?
Archer 2 years , doubt we will see him to any long term degree in future ..
Maybe it’s a sorry for mishandling him when he was playing
-
New TV deals are in the future interesting Stokes is the only one turning down a 3 year deal thou.
Archer probably if he gets on the field again is short form only.
I do think if you have someone of that pace bowling the donkey overs in Tests then you have handled it wrong. He may of got injured anyway but England did him no favours.
It is poor handling end of the day in my opinion

Isn’t the England Test captaincy on a rolling 1 year contract hence his 1 year contract? If not no idea why only a year
-
Stokes wants to re negotiate after the new TV rights have been announced
1 year until then
Basically, wanting more money this time next year
Who can blame him?
-
Makes sense
Whereas others “some others “ don’t have as much bargaining power like rashid
-
Root and brook surprised me
They still have massive bargaining power but maybe they got money too good to refuse ?
-
Or other concessions - "we won't stop you going to the IPL" etc.
-
Brook I can see that as he’s a dead cert for next 2-3 years a million plus every year for 6 weeks
-
Seems odd they have offered contracts to all the pensioners in engs odi team who are about to retire.
Jacks not getting a contract is also mad. He will play more cricket for England than loads of the names on that list.

Guessing they thought we'd challenge for this WC and then go challenge for the T20 next summer. Imagine there may be a handful who don't make it to that tournament now!

Agree. Offering two year deals to Chris Woakes- is that out of some kind of misguided loyalty?
-
Chris Woakes was named the player of the series in an Ashes summer only two months ago so has a fairly decent case to be part of England's immediate plans without Stuart Broad
-
How much more are they expecting to develop Saqib Mahmood?? They should have invested in some other young talent which can be developed.
-
Mahmood still has back issues so it’s a bit of a punt, maybe they want to nurse him along.
Woakes not the least bit surprised, as others have said Broad has gone and the silly amount of games crammed into our summer CW seems an obvious choice for a long contract.
Atkinson toungue and Carse seem promising there’s Potts to I think.
Stone again has back issues so he maybe will play short form when fit

Maybe in tests, but abroad?

He's had more contracts than actual England appearances

He’s a specialist development player! Give the guy a long term development contract- 6 years so he hits his peak mid thirties like Wood.
