Thats just craziness but i will add.

...added as needed after a repair.

I try to avoid it, but if edge damage warrants it it’ll go under the scuff sheet.

Hi.
Makes changing the tape when the scuff sheet is still fine much easier. Also if the sheet is a bit unevenly applied (more wrapping round one edge compared to the other for example, or a bit wonky) you can cover this up with the tape.

It's always put on top. Much easier to change if needed and think it just looks better personally. That said, I'm not a fan of it in general and not sure there's a proven huge benefit to it either.

Think edge tape under a clear scuff looks nicer and there's no dirt that get strapped when you have it on the outside.
But it's a pain to remove, so I can see why people have it on the outside, even though it traps dirt.

I didn't even realise underneath was such a thing! 😆 I'd say 90% of bats I see have it on the outside, if at all

Someone covered my latest bat in the stuff 🤣

I'm tape over scuff - I find the scuff can split around the edge areas, so having tape there helps hold it together a bit better imo
