Title: Best retro
Post by: thegowerwaft on November 12, 2023, 03:54:52 PM
A nostalgia post for a dreary Sunday afternoon... there are some great retros shaping up for 24. For me, I am loving the 90s themed Ridgeback 2000.

What do you folks like the look of?

What would you like see come back? I regret not getting a GN Predator a few seasons back.

All of the Kookaburra retro bats look great. Does anyone know if the Ponting replica Kahuna has the graphite back, or whether it's a sticker/paint?

I am gutted I missed out on the GN Scoop revival from a few years ago. Looked great.

Looks like a sticker in the pics I have seen. Great bat.

Loved the scoop. Reminiscent of Lara smashing it round the park.

the new kahuna looks great, but im sure its just a big sticker. am i right in thinking that it wont be useable by pros because of that? if thats the case i really hope there a few rolling around without the black sticker like the aussies had last season.

the bubbles from 2005ish were amazing as well

I don't think it would just be the pro's, I think it would be across the board. Whether anyone checked at local level is another thing. A bit like laminates I suppose

Retro vibes from H4L. Old school 50/50s. Must not buy...

I also prefer those stickers to the new ones.

Fond memories.  My brother had one and used to smash me round the nets all day long. Great middle and pick up. Didn't realise they were made by Hunts.

Speaking of retro - I was browsing Facebook marketplace and came across this gem which I thought was free but isn't.   :(
