Hey all
I had my first nets session after 10+ years away from the game and naturally I was terrible. I wasn't able to put much away at all, even some absolute pies! I'm looking to get some 1 to 1 coaching to quickly improve and get better so I dont embarrass myself as much. Im based in Portsmouth so happy to travel anywhere in Hampshire and even guildford/surrey or chichester/sussex way.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated

Hit balls! You'll have lost ball-sense. Don't get over-technical.

Thanks for your reply. Will hiring a net and hitting against a bowling machine help? I will only get 8 minutes in the nets once a week!

Eight minutes once a week won't help much - especially if it's against rubbish bowling! Keep your head still and play the straight ball straight.

As per elsewhere, if you can get to South London I would suggest checking out NET in Clapham/Battersea - Callum is really good and the facility itself is excellent. Wouldn't say it's cheap, but if it's something you're interested in definitely worth considering; his Instagram also gives you an indication of how he does things

A net would absolutely help getting your eye back. I would suggest looking at looking at hiring a lane a bola machine in somewhere like Serious Cricket in Dummer (Basingstoke Hants) or Eversley Cricket Centre which is Hook in Hants!
A few old timers on this forum have frequented both on a number of occasions! Also worth putting feelers out on this forum as I am sure that you could get a few people to join you!

As someone who sends 95% of their life at Serious, I would recommend it! Especially if you’re looking for a coaching session as the coaches are brilliant.
Eversley has the one benefit of having a self feeder, so you can just rock up and hit on your own!
