That branding looks like Tesco Value from the 1990s
-
Deary me.

£550 for a G1 which you can select in light (2lbs 9oz or below) or medium (anything over 2lbs 10oz). Not sure who buys bats online in this manner?!
-
Isn't this about 20 years too late for Admiral? Unless they're stepping back into the international shirt sponsorship space again.
-
I think this must be marmite as I actually love it. Nice clean minimal branding. No stupid neon flash colours. It looks like unofficial England gear. And yes they should’ve done this 20 years ago. Fair prices too. I wonder who makes the bats?

I'd heard a rumour about this, I'll be amazed if I see one out in the wild

At least it's minimalist, that's about all it has going for it...

Yes I RAF style scrambled straight to the forum too 😁😁

Each to their own. I don't hate the look, but I'm just not sure they're adding much value imo. No real story, heritage or point of difference. Quite basic looking softs (gloves are £100) and bags, that don't really look as good as most other already established brands imo.
Grade 4 - £250, Grade 1 - £550 and only able to specify light or medium in the bats. The latter stating anything over 2lbs 10oz, doesn't strike me as the fairest of pricing policies for essentially bats shipped in, stickered up and slapped online for people to buy blind.
Maybe that's just the way it is nowadays tho. Who next? Hummel? Dunlop Green flash Bats? Hi-Tech? 😆

Wouldn't mind our club kit being done by Hummel to be fair 😅

My favourite football boots back in the day were a pair of Hummel. Absolutely class boots!
I'd like to see Pony make a comeback into the cricket shoe market and maybe bring out a range of bats. The sledging writes itself! 😆

Yes please, like their stuff...

£100 for a Kashmir Willow bat that the Instagram description says is pressed and handled in the UK..................... :(
You can get a 404 GM for £10-£20 more. I know which I'd choose.

That import them, sticker them and charge a hefty price works for many a forum favourite though mate

I wasn't having a go at anyone who doesn't make their own bats here. Plenty of really good brands out there who have taken time to source good products, build a reputation and then charge what they see fit. This just smacks a bit as it's just so generic and rushed. Just doesn't seem to be any thoughts behind any of it really, or real value to it

No me either mate just saying it’s a model that works well from a margin perspective I would assume with some good smoke and mirrors advertising

Think you are on the money. It looks like it was all decided and rushed in 5 mins. Got someone with MS Paint to knock design up during lunch... it just looks and feels terrible. Appreciate it's all subjective.

I am unconvinced that a nostalgia for 1970s and 80s polyester football shirts and budgie smuggler shorts can convert into sales of £500 cricket bats but at least they won't regret not having tried

Can't deal with those edge stickers being that way up, it's triggering me for some reason 🤣

It won't take that much for this lot to be all over them. ;)

Check Walthamstow FC kit!

Thank goodness it's not just me! I twisted my head in all directions trying to get them to work.

One would assume Keeley and can’t make out much from the video but does the shoulder shape resemble Keeley?

Very much doubt Keeley made, they stopped making white label bats for other brands a few years ago.

And their own brand seems to be doing rather well?
-
Seems to be a thicker handle ….
B3 ?
-
You do realise batmakers shape handles? 😆
-
Walking Wicket impression: "More likely to have hunted around."
-
The looks seem to be dictated by a "Let's make sure everyone knows that it's this brand". Subtle it isn't.

Owned by Pro Direct according to The Cricketer.
