Another season on its way and my club has decided to seek cheaper ball options than the league ball for friendlies mainly. Im feeling the T20 ball could potentially be even cheaper than the Sunday red ball. If worth it.
I have some ideas to go to already. And the previous threads on the topic have really helped reassure those ideas.
But just checking that previous recommendations (2023) are still current or if there is a new kid on the block everyone has turned to? Or stay clear of!?
Certainly don’t want to be that club with a crap ball reputation overnight.
I love talking balls. 😁
Any help much appreciated. 🙏

Tiflex?

I bulk buy our sunday balls from sports direct whenever they do a silly 80%+ discount on a high end mainstream manufacturer ball. At the mo they're using a Gray Nics ball, it's I think it's ok, probably the same as a Tiflex Windsor, but we paid about £4.50 a ball from Sports Direct. We've used a GM in the past which was ok, as long as they are able to be shined and aren't bat breakers they'll work for sunday friendly cricket.

My go to was Tiflex instantly. Or anything £15 down to £12.
But thanks so much for the Sports Direct advice. That would be the last place Id look but defo keep an eye out for 4.50 luck now!

Try the Ram balls, I think they are pretty good

Posted these before, but by fast the best quality friendly balls I’ve found for the price.

Already on it Buzz! But thanks for reassuring me they are still a safe product. 😅

Yes I thought of these instantly too.
I ordered one to try in nets last year and was really good. Tiflex are really welcoming and personable when you have a chat with them.
For £1 more I’d personally rather offer a brand new ball. I thought these would make great spares and practice balls. Blank or double stamped balls might put the away team off trusting them. Most fixtures rule of thumb is home team provides balls. Not as if anyone does a tea anymore so a ball would be nice!

I also checked out VKS balls. Judging by descriptions they look perfectly sound for a bulk price.
Anybody used VKS balls on here?

All of the ones I’ve had from him have been new. Waxed and not lacquered through.

Been using these for the last few years in nets and T20s. Hold up really well. The pink ones do lose their colour quite quickly though.

VKS balls have been great for our club, lasting 40 overs without issue
