-
Wow
-
double pressed means something different in my neck of the woods!
-
At 2lb 11oz, thats very impressive!

not really it is laminated
-
Am I right in saying this is illegal?
-
I mean for the weight, most laminated bats I see are 3lb+, but for a bat to weigh 2lb 11oz, with such a large profile, you dont see them every day.

Yep in all forms of cricket

depends, if you laminate them like that it is quite easily done as it is mostly edge
-
So the seller is listing an illegal (sporting) good on ebay.

it is not illegal to buy it
-
I think you'll find it's only illegal of you try to use it in a match!
So although it's illegal in all formats and levels of the game, it wont be illegal to own one!! ;)
-
I see, but shouldn't the seller say it cannot be used in a match?
-
just cover the edges and bottom if it is done and bob is your uncle

The bats are against the rules of the game, they're not illegal to buy and use- you won't get arrested!
-
I'm not sure this is an Ishan, more likely a Malik.

Agreed it does look like a Malik styled laminate
-
That bat looks like it has had some serious pressing, thats some uber-bow its got!

If you get enough tear out whilst sanding the face you can get a bow like that ;)
-
Who says it isnt like that already >:(!!!! Blimmin willow!

Just to put the fact straight here. I am not the one selling or offering to sell these bats (as these are illegal).
I only provided Dan with the email I received from the actual seller of these bats. This in no way implies that I am selling or offering to sell these bats.
-
That bow has been planed out, not pressed in.
-
I dont think anyone was accusing you Yash, fret not :D
Planed out middle - Is this done out of choice, laziness, inability, performance?
-
Inability to bow without creating a very hard middle.

Yep it isn't illegal to buy it so don't worry

SS / Norb, I am only taking exception to the fact that Dan mentioned that I offered the bat to him....which was not correct. Whether the bat is legal or illegal to sell / own /use is secondary.
-
Thats huge! But a hefty Pricetag!
-
I thought there was some weird loophole where repaired bats were not considered laminates? or am I confused.
It does seem expensive when I'm sure there are cheaper/better bats are on offer.
-
thats not a bat. it actualy is a tree that fell down in my road in some recent high winds. i saw the bloke come along with the stickers and take the photos...
-
That is absolutely massive!
-
I want a laminate, I've used one in a net and it sexed me up big time.
So far i have been unable to source one, but the search continues.
(That's a subtle hint to some peole on the forum!)
-
I am guessing you are primarily after English Willow?
-
Yes. Although I would like to discuss with you your CJI purchase.
-
As nice as it would be to own a laminate, this one seems a bit steep at £275! Are all laminates this expensive?
-
I can get you one Fatcat, but it will cost. Email me if you are interested.
-
The bat Gooch used when scoring his 333 against India at Lords in 1990 was a similar bat
-
In terms of profile or pressing?
-
FatCattussssssss, why an earth? It's not allowed to be used, I appreciate no-one will really catch up on it. Surely you can't go out to bat with one of them...
-
i doubt at the level of club cricket most of us play, it will ever get noticed!
-
I don't think anyone would realise unless you made a big deal about it!
-
Well these bats can be used, only if you owned one before the law was made, this is a major loophole for anyone who wants to use it. I have seen these bats personally and i can vouch these are ihsans. These are absolute trees on a handle and made to hit the ball into outer space. I know some overseas professionals bought these fro a mate of mine.
Lastly that price is nicely a 80-100 quids over what you can get it for.
