Hi guys, had to send my flare back to gm because of a split toe, I have asked for a replacement because the bat is so new. Just wondering if anyone has had to send a bat back there and what they did, and the turn around time ect??
cheers
-
think it was alridd who got a direct replacement for a snapped bat but ill let him tell you the story...
-
Got my Icon LE back there for the second time with a split toe, waiting for a replacement as of last Monday.
-
I had a catalyst which split the toe... took it back to romida they let me pick another out there and then... Then that broke like down the back of the bat... Took it back once again they sent it back to GM and they sent me another :) great service i believe
-
ok nice one so it sound like they will replace it then, does any one have a contact number for gm?
-
If it only has a split toe they'll most likely try to repair it before giving you a replacement!
-
well i have said a replacement would be better as its so new
-
Yes but just because you've asked for a replacement doesn't mean you'll get one! They'll want to save money but fixing it if they can.
-
I think they will put customer service ahead of saving a bit of money, plus lets be honest a replacement is not going to break the gm bank is it
-
It depends on the damage I would have thought..... repairing a bat costs less than a new one so will be option A for them if beyond repair I'd think they would send out a new one. Every penny counts in business!

It won't break their bank but as Tom says every penny counts in business!
-
guess we'll see, still need to get hold of them tho, i've sent a couple of emails but nothing back guess they must be really busy. could do with a contact number for them tho
-
If its more or less BN then any self respecting company like GM should and most likely will replace it for a new one, as long as the damage wasn't through misuse or negligence
-
Not trying to be funny, but if you've bluntly asked for a replacement, they're probably less likely to give you one. They're the experts. They'll make the correct decision
-
I think i'm more then in my rights to ask for a replacement, weather they will or not is up to them, but as customdan said as long as its not down to misuse I think they will. But we'll see what they end up doing
-
toes and edges arent normally under bat warrenty iv been informed but are normal considered and then something done about it
-
i recon itll be repaired just my thought
-
I hope they do
-
cheers colesy, its really up to them what they do i guess its down to there discretion.
-
the best thing could be they give you a new one and let you keep the other bat ;)
-
I know its a different bat maker, but one of my team mates newbery uzi broke after a season of use, we went down there and let him pick a brand spanking new one. admittedly the bat had a chunk of toe missing
-
I have found GN to be the worst
-
that would be good yeah can't see that myself tho carn
-
how come gn was bad?
-
Replaced my Viper 5* with the worst bat I've ever owned. A team mate broke his Nitro Carbo after 1000 runs in 30 games, GN said "it has clearly been used for more than a season" so they said he'd have to pay £140 to replace it.
-
wish i had the chance to score 100 runs with it let alone 1000.
-
Lol I've been fortunate not to snap many bats lol, just 3 :L
-
jast bat i snapped was my gn millenium, and to be fair they did send me a new one jus took about a month, that was about 5 years ago. Hope they do replace it, maybe me but think a repaired bat would play on my mind lol
-
GM seem good, reasonable people, customer service is good so I shouldn't see why not.
GM are my favourite company so I have a loyalty to them :)

I have to disagree there. Rob Key gave me a fairly battered predator pro performance in 2008 when i was doing the dressing room duty. I sent it to get refurbished, and within a week they sent me a brand spanking new GN Ignite pro performance which was identical to the one i sent to get refurbished. (This was in early August 2008 and they didn't come into shops until December time)
-
Perhaps it's due to the model of the bat???
-
perhaps because your a lucky... you know what! lol
-
not good news, they asked me how I would like to pay for the repair!
-
That's not good! Have you explained it's within a year and got any proof of purchase?
-
Split toe isn't necessarily covered by warranty. Bat warranties really don't cover much more than manufacturing faults. A split toe is a result of a 'mis-timed shot'.
-
yeah they know its nearly new, problem is i bought it off here so have nothing to provr i brought it
-
They'll sting you there then mate, as Tom says if it's not covered then your going to have to pay!
-
not sure i'll bother might just sell it as is, as there is a few bat makers on here sure someone will have it
-
after a couple of phone calls, i had a letter through today saying a replacement is on the way and upgraded from a 909 to a original. not too bab at all
-
all is well then mate :) sum good news on a friday to end the week with
-
yeah really good news only thing is in the letter it says long handle an i sent a sort handle, called steve wilkinson up an he thinks he sent out a short handle.
-
Cool - see what comes back to you! Result getting an upgrade too! SWEEEEET!
-
Fair play to GM very decent of them
-
This is why I like GM :)
