Title: Knee injury
Post by: tommo256 on March 27, 2010, 04:33:10 PM
The other week at football I got me knee stuck in the ground underneath me and thought nothing of it and now whenever I kick the ball, as a goalie this is quite key, I have a sharp pain in my knee causing me not to be able to run and struggling to move for up to 5 mins after that kick. Any help would be key :)
Cheers

Just rest, avoid all physical activity if you can. You don't want to make it worse with the season a month away. I am goig through this process and it is getting better.

If you suspect you have done tendon/ligament damage then go see a doctor.

But REST!

If uv done any ligament damage u would more than likely have a degree of swelling of it or have burst a synovial sack leading to it ballooning up a touch....chances are u have jarred it by digging it into the ground but if you still have your full range of flexion and extention nothing too serious should have been done!!! HOPEFULLY

if you can get a doctors note and dont do your p.e moderation tey will most likely give you same scores as your teachers did unless they found the teachers to give innacurate marks e.g if the teachers on average marked too high by 1 then the moderater will mark you down one probably, same goes for teachers being too harsh. so if it seems serious you can still rest :)

well i re-tore my cartilage during my A-level PE assesment which wasnt great....tore my cruciate after the doctor told me to rest for 2 weeks and go back to playing seems they failed to notice the fact id tore my cartilage!

Always best to be on the safe side though and get it looked at

they will issue you with a note saying ur unable to particiapte in said activity due to suspected injury...stuff like this cant be diagnose without a MRI which they wont wanna send u off for unles there is a cause to do so such as restricted movement, swelling, discomfort etc.

im fairly sure you wont NEED to hand the note in on monday, if u arent being assessed by the actual moderator then you can give it to them later and they wont be too fussed, if your being assessed by the mod it mite be a little tricky
