Title: Symonds Sent Home
Post by: art on August 30, 2008, 08:12:46 AM
Symonds has been excluded from the Australian XI playing Bangladesh for missing a team meeting and an optional training session. (he went fishing).

Senior players requested that he be sent home from Darwin and will take no part in the series. His future is now in some doubt.

I think that was a bit harsh to suspend him for the series but i can see that they want to make an example of him.

I reckon he just missed the bit of writing on the paper where it said meeting. after reading his book, i think that could be the most logical explanation as he already knew he was on thin ice.

apparently hes a popular one within the aus camp. personally i think the decision came from steve bernard and tim neilsen, rather than clarkey and ponting

He did not perform well in last weekend's 20/20 preliminaries in Brisbane but has a new leadership role for Queensland. Needs some solid performances over the next few weeks.
