Title: Duncan Fearnley
Post by: umz_786 on April 18, 2010, 07:00:07 PM
Has anyone tried them in recent times? They've become lost in the industry - no one stocks them any more, no player wears their gear and there advertising has gone completely.

I quite like their gear (http://www.fearnleycricket.co.uk) and might give them a visit

Im eyeing the gold bat but - how much of a difference will there be between these 2 models:

http://www.fearnleycricket.co.uk/productitem.asp?id=5

there is a 175 pound difference betweeen the 2 and they are both g1!

As well as the problems they face which have already been mentioned, theeir pricing over the last decade or so can't have helped sales. The old factory (and the new factory) are in my home town so I used to pop down quite a bit, but I remember 10 or so years ago, they were the first to sell G1 bats for £250 which put me off, as everyone else had a top price of £200. They seem to be 'selling' G1 bats for £300 today. I just can't see it being worth it.

I bought the top of the range softs a couple of years ago, were really bad quality, knee roll on pads ripped within a season

I wouldn't have touched much myself but some bats were made on site like the one I got.
