Title: Puma Millichamp bat
Post by: yvk3103 on September 03, 2008, 08:34:32 AM
This Puma Millichamp bat was on ebay for auction. What are your thoughts on this bat?

This is one of the 125 made by Julian Millinchamp. All the bats were made to the exact specifications of Adam Gilchrist and individually checked by him before putting his autographs on them.

Would you pay £250 for this bat? If yes, why - for the playing qulaities of the bat or Adam Gilchrist's autographs or because it is a original Millichamp?

Was thinking about a Puma Millichamp myself.... However I wouldn't pay £250 for one... I'd get a Screaming Cat with a classic profile if I was looking to spend that much

Also I was thinking more along the lines of the older Puma bats circa late 90's Sheffield, Original, Classic....

The reasons behind it are 2 fold.  Firstly I've started to collect retro cricket bats and secondly it is made by Julian Millichamp

I couldn' agree more  with you on the price part. £250 is a lot of money (can think about it is I win the lotto this Friday ;))

I have used a Puma Millichamp some years back. Think it was from the Original series and it was a ripper of a bat, but always found it had to adjust early on due to the oval grip.

I offered £170 for this bat just because I thought it will play well. AG's signatures will not improve the performance or hwlp me score more runs.

M&H offered to replicate the bat for £200 with their top willow and oiling and knocking included. A good deal....maybe

L&W offered the same price and service

Yet to hear from Newberry but I am sure they can better the service and price.

I personally fell Newbery will be a better option purely in terms of Quality.

What is your take on this?

Yep seen one of Talismans Newbery Puma Millichamp crossover shapes made by Tim Keeley and it looks great...

Not really had anything to do with M&H so can't really comment on them

A own 2 L&W I know James would be great at this but shipping costs from NZ.... Saying that why not email Julian Millichamp and ask him then you've got the best all worlds.....

The price offered by L&W is including shipping costs.

How and I contact JUlina Millichamp himself?

Same bat and seller. He's gonna have a hard time selling for £200++

Prashant is a good guy though. Spoke with him last week when his auction was running on ebay.

He's selling for a good cause though. To help fund a bowling machine for his cricket club.

His club is planning a auction of autographed stuff mainly Owis Shah
