Thinking about getting a lekka bat, anyone else had one?
-
I have 2 'normal' Lekka bats, and 2 Twenty20 Lekka bats, and all are top quality.
Decent willow, responsive blades and very decent prices too!
-

-
Will try to grab some photos a little later if you want?
What's your email address?

Will start with the cheapest Lekka I have - is a Warrior model but was improved by the nicer bat stickers.
I purchased a whole kit (bat, gloves, pads, helment, trousers) for a VERY good price!
I asked for a bat that responded well, and told them not to worry about the cosmetic looks! I got a bat that may not be very pretty but feels nice and goes pretty well from the few throw downs I've had!

In reply - the Lekka is excellent quality and finish! The T20 bat is perhaps not quite as good quality willow, but as the Joker is absolutely top notch, then that doesn't mean the Lekka is bad. In actual fact, the quality willow is equal to most of the bats I have, and there is not alot to choose between them.
Both the Joker and Lekka T20 are both very powerful bats. If you are looking for a rocket of a bat, then either would do the job!
If I had to choose between them, I guess it would come down to budget! The Joker is more expensive but slightly better quality willow.
The Lekka is value as good as I have ever seen, and the price is better that the Joker.
Is the Joker worth the extra money? I guess it depends what budget you have!
Which would I choose? That would be a tough choice - and thankfully I am not on a budget so I will leave that choice to others! ;)
-
If you dont mind me asking what do you do for a living to fund you bat buying?
-
He is a high class male escort by all accounts.
-
Arms dealer?
-
Let me know how the TPX does as i want one of them
-
Loving that "envy". what weight is it??
-
I think the Lekkas are around 2'9-2'10?
My kitchen scales are not the most accurate, but it feels quite light!
I am an IT Consultant - I am something callled a SAP Technical Consultant.
I used to bully school children for their lunch money, but my taste in bats is more expensive now!
So now I finance my bat addiction by mugging pensioners coming out of the Post Office on Pension days!
-
Lovely response pete!
I thought you would come up with something equally as witty.
-
Its a bit mean really! ;)
Would neveer happen - the young kids tend to be too cheeky and mouthy these days. Whereas the pensioners would smack you over the head with their bags or brollies!
-
why didnt you say pete, i work with the SAP system as well, it's a nightmare and i dont like it :(
-
You try building them and supporting them if you think they're a nightmare!! :(
Anyway, back on topic! :D
-
pete - great pics - thanks mate! a few questions though:
how much did you pay? how big are the edge on the t20 bats? how do you know where to hold the t20 bats?
-

See Shilly abbout the prices - they are very good value.
The edges are around 45mm fella - depending on what weight. But they are humungous for the weight!! 8)
-
What weight is the blue RDX.
Looks a nice bat
-
So then SillyShilly - where can we see Lekka prices? tried the website but no prices listed

It's a beauty! The finish is similar to my Newberys.
It's around 2'9 in weight with excellent balance and pickup.
-
how much are these for?
-
Grade 1 = £135 posted as a special forum offer, this will not last forever!
Grade 2 = £125 posted
Grade 3 = £120 posted.
Graded on cosmetics and performance by our batmaker.
There is a waiting list on the grade 1's at the moment as they have been selling quickly!
-
how much are these for?
I got the Blue RDX for £135, which I consider excellent value!
Can't imagine that they'll be that price for long though! :(
-
Are they available custom made?
-
At the moment no. However, you can still request weight and grade, and to a certain extent grains.
-
Look excellent quality.
-
Thanks matt - just to point out quickly, the bat with the yellow stickers on page 1 was not sold to pete at anywhere near the price we would normally ask, it was Indian made grade 2/3 and one of a few left over from some samples.
-
Yes - and that was a great price!! Included with a helmet, pads, gloves, trousers!
And it makes a great bat to play with in wet conditions! 8)
-
how much thinner, face width wise, are the 20/20 bats than the normal ones?
-
any news on them pics sillyshilly
-
Cakes - i havnt got the measurements on me at the moment, but we are talking a couple of milimetres no more.......some people notice the difference, most dont.
-
A very quick review done by All Out Cricket of the Lekka 20/20 Envy bat :D
http://www.alloutcricket.com/get-envious-this-summer/ (http://www.alloutcricket.com/get-envious-this-summer/)
-
ok thanks shilly, its just i struggle to hit the ball at the moment so i wasnt sure if i wanted a thinner bat!
-
Read as more of an advert than a review to me
-
Cant wait for the pics of the new bats, as there is a very significant possibility, i will be getting one hehehe
