Just wanted to start a little topic for discussion here!
There are a number of luckier members on this forum with bats that were originally destined for a professionals kitbag!
So if you could have a bat from any professional, who's kitbag would you raid??
And why would you pick that particular player? 8)

Good question and I would be interested to see the replies!
For me it would probably be AB Deviliers as his style of batting is quite similar to mine ( I wish!)
And I think its a sexy looking bat also!
Although saying that Trescothicks bat was sublime and felt very nice in my hands!
-
For me would have to be gayle or hayden but lean towards gayle as both attacking openers and from the tv pics look to be the shape I go for but alot bigger
-
My mate got one of Malans bats, nothing special. Pings well tho.
-
Who's Malan mate?
-
Dawid Malan, plays for middlesex.
-
Dawid Malan....Did a lid for him @ middlesex not sure if hes still there?

I guess the best way to comment on this topic would be to identify the player whose style matches yours closely, or who you aspire to play like.
For me, it would be Rahul Dravid. I've either opened the batting or come in one-down for most of my life. I'm not a big-hitter, and love keeping the ball on the ground. The shot I bring out the most is the straight/cover drive. So, I think his bat might suit me well. I believe he uses a custom-made SG.

For me it will be Mohammad Yousuf, Kamran Akmal (or even Umar Akmal) and Shahid Afridi
Mohammad Yousuf - Because he is my favourite player and is classy player. I love his drives and all those strokes
Shahid Afridi - Sometimes you are in mood of slogging so its good to have a slogging bat :D
-
Chris martin's for me....barely used BN condition bat with plenty of life left in...reflects my batting style of a rabbit in the headlights :D
-
How many ducks have you scored so far ? :D :D
-
Dhoni, not one from one of the many batmakers who give him one to get coverage but one he actually has used in a game. Hopefully that dream will come true next week!
-
Just to add to this would be interesting to see who the pros rate as the best batmaker as we have our opinions but they are the pros
-
For me it would be a ST Profile bat, used by the man himself, big pinger at 2'12.......
-
Michael Vaughan :D
-
I would want one of ravi bopara, I really like the look of the profile on his sticks, espically of his warsops.
-
atm the min iv seen him netting with an rns ss and gm so not jsut warsop
-
and my choice jp duminy
-
I think I would go for Freddie Flintoff's kitbag - after all, if he's injured then he has no use for the bat! ;)

The Malan bat looks like a bog standard asian bat
-

Yea i no, but when he was at and using warsop kit.
-
got a GM icon here, from the gm pro basket, one of the ones intended for the pro's but was not selected
if i could have any pros bat it would definitely be marcus trescothick, the profile he has is spot on and the handle would suit me very nicely
-
I have a Puma pro bat given to me by puma that was destined for Devon Smith of the West Indies, totally blemish free 8 straight grains and long bladed short handle. It just looks too good to use, i might give it a run out one day.
-
Damien Martyn's bats always seemed to go with a slight push. His natural timing might have been a bit better than mine though ;)

One of Yuvraj's would go down a treat. Something similar to what he used in the WT20 in 2007.
