Title: Ireland V England World T20 Group D Final
Post by: niall1995 on May 04, 2010, 11:36:30 AM
With the West Indies already through with two wins from two, Ireland and England are left to fight it out for the second place through to the Super 8s.

Mainly to save me clogging up other forums with my stupid angry comments. :)

Got Ireland at 10s and John Boy to top score at 11.

I want a forfeit from everyone if Ireland win. Custom Dan has already promised something :) Anyone else want to but anything else up? lol

COMON IRELAND! :)

Sorry about the slow replies boys, having a nice bit of lunch, not good winning on an empty stomach..... Ehrmm, do people mind getting 1/123918 of a Salix bat? plenty of people seem to be going for it, maybe it's because it's so good? After all, an Irish man picked it out......

tbh boys, I don't got much at all, I only got my proper gear which I won't even wager because it's too good :) I could wager some (No Swearing Please) old gear?  Dan I'll take your bet, I don't mind taking free gloves. Again I wouldn't like to see such a nice Salix even been thought of being cut up or giving to an English man, so that, I'm afraid is a non runner..... Although, Mr. Hosk I'm sure you could spare one of your 1023919 bats for a "certain English win"?

Mr.C, If your so found of "minerals" i have a full 2 liter bottle of coke in the fridge... I would wager that for your fine mongoose....

So we all happy with those terms? ;)

I can wager a bat, but unless its worth my while then why should i wager a bet for no returns!!
So put your money where your sizable mouth is!
In other words, put up or shut up!

The Great brand that we all know as Lekka have so kindly decided to offer a free pair of Lekka gloves of your choice to the person who guesses the time to the nearest minute (GMT) when Collingwood starts moaning..... In case of rain the Duckworth Lewis method which we have spent hours working on will be introduced meaning all peoples guesses that have been spoiled because of rain will have a revised time which puts them back in the game despite Collingwood going well and holding off.....

This is all courtesy of James from Lekka, who will offer therapy at the reduced price of 50 proper money (euro) per hour for those of you who are greatly upset by this matter....

"News in that it's roasting in Guyana, but that there is a 65% chance of rain later, which is bad news for England, and indeed Ireland. There is the distinct possibility that England could be skewered by Duckworth/Lewis in this tournament, a couple of chaps who can't even bat, bowl or field. "

Oh already making excuses about Duckworth Lewis in case of rain tonight are we!! If Ireland win after chasing down a revised total and anyone of you complain it just shows that you as ignorant as..... Any ways, if Its rained off, England go through so it's GOOD news for England, they might actually have a chance!! And in case you haven't noticed, it;s the same D/L rules for every team just to clarify!!!

Niall, Your mouth is bigger than your brain, which is unfortunate as most of what you say comes from your (No Swearing Please).
I am not making excuses, i quoted from the BBC sport website and i dont think i have imparted any opinions or views on the matter, i couldnt care less about duckworth and lewis and of course i would like to see England progress - but to go around called people ignorant as "fuc" just doesnt help anyone - we are all here to talk about the cricket, lets get back to the topic shall we?

I think it was cricinfo that interviewed Duckworth/Lewis after the Windies game. Typical stats guy  response- the numbers don't lie and the windies were 11 ahead of D/L at 14 balls. Worked with a few stats guys in my job and when it comes to numbers they do tend to have common sense bypass. How does a team that averaged, yes averaged 9.55 over 20 overs have to defend 10 an over for a team who has just 6 overs to bat. England scored 60 in 6 at the start - yes fielding restrictions were in place but the Windies had 10 wickets and only 22 balls to get 30. A better guide would be englands last 5 overs where 76 were scored.

I heard Ireland would of had 61 off 9 overs, again barely half a run an over more with 10 wickets in hand than Englands average run rate. England scored 65-70 odd in the last 9 or 10 overs - again a better guide than D/L, but low given the wickets in hand.

D/L strike me as clever chaps but it strikes me as odd they haven't looked it this for shortened games.
