First time in 4 years of playing i have had a game called off for bad light. it was bad tonight, ball was being hit no-one knew where it was going, and it was an orange ball

Fair enough! Better that than someone get hurt, we have played in a fair few like that a ground up here Whitburn is notorious for being dark and hard to see the ball in night matches, dark trees all around the ground hanging over the edge of the boundary not good when you cant see the nice dark ball!

get an orange ball, they make a huge difference in poor light.

it was an orange ball
Uknsaunders.....

thats what we were using, still couldnt see it at all
-
sorry, getting late...

To be honest, I played a match this time last week in the same conditions... very gloomy and dark, trees all around, and to walk out to bat at 8.35pm with lights from the club house visible through the sidescreen, is a totally unique and terrifying experience... especially as the ball was wet and they had a nice sharp opening bowler back on.

ours was close on tuesday, we didnt start untill 6.30 cos the opposition turned up late.... really gloomy
-
ours on tuesday was getting dark when i came on to bowl, hence taking some wickets!

I played tonight in the dark and they had no sight screens. Didn't see it out the hand or when it pitched or after, but did manage to pick it up when it hit me.
