Title: Is this going to work?
Post by: slcric on May 15, 2010, 07:19:36 AM
Hi,this question is to all the bat makers out there.I know this might sound stupid but i want to know if this could actually work.
I know the bat handles have 3 rubber pieces between the wood to minimize the shock from the Cricket ball, but still there is some shock you get which is really annoying,i was thinking what if you put 2 pieces of rubber on the "V" of the bat where the bat handle would fit in?so this will stop more shock,or would it?is this possible?

I have cut half moon's out of each side of the handle just above the shoulders and inserted rubber strips then glued the bit i had cut out back in. re-shape and jobs a good-un. Extra shock absorbtion and gives some extra whip.

Nah, i did it ages ago to a bat that the rubber didnt go very far down the handle on.

I thought that you need such a tight fit between the handle and blade, that the rubber would be so compressed that it would have little or no damping effect.
