I was digging around in my parents loft this weekend and found these hidden gems from a while back and thought I would share them - as posted elsewhere I have owned 4 county bats in the past, a Reflex and three of these county caerulex's. They remain my favourite ever bat stickers (I am very much from the old school). The first I got as my first full size bat - which I still have, tucked away and there are pics of it somewhere else on the forum - with no stickers on it. However, these have survived a bit better - they were all sourced all directly from the factory. The one in slightly better condition is 15 years old is the proud holder of my highest (and unlikely to be beaten) score - an innings that included 18 sixes! The slightly battered one came with a note on the invoice saying "enjoy, this is a bit special". It was, I wont say much more than that, other than the appearance shows how much it was [is] loved. They were both 2lbs 10oz.

Love the old County bats - had a Reflex in the mid 90's and got my highest score with it (173*), but it sadly broke the week after. Was absolutely gutted!!!

The stickers look great, the profile is nice - the shape is very hunts and even the grains look very hunts (i've seen so many hunts bats with 4-5 grains i've almost lost count!)

these had 6 and 7 grains respectively - the one with 6 grains didn't go as well as the knackered one, but I scored so many runs with both bats.
It would be brilliant if Hunts did a retro set of bats - I am sure they would sell really well - the modern stickers really don't do it for me, which is one of the reasons I stopped using the bats - I also found their handles snapped really easily, which may not be the case now (we are talking more than 10 years ago!)

My favourite bat I ever owned was a Hunts County Modulus, the one with the honeycomb back. Was not the biggest looking bat but boy did ping. Kinda gutted I sold it but a teammate is using it now so I might buy it back offa him one day

A player at our club has a clipper that has lasted 12 years. He's a huge guy and the bat is like a railway sleeper.
I love the handles, I'd have them in every bat. They make great bats just a shame the stickers are a bit too busy! (design wise)

Interesting - bats where the handle has cracked but not fully broken yet are supposed to play really well - which may make us both right. But at this point I have to plead ignorance as I know very little about the difference between one handle and the next (other than the difference in shape - obviously)

My friend's County has snapped completely on Saturday. He'll get a new one but I hit my highest league score with that bat :(

Jesus, I thought the Pacquaio and Mayweather fight had the potential to be epic......i was wrong, it's Brimble v Hosk for the title of biggest bat collection - smart moneys on Mike ""The Bruiser" Brimble, but Pete "How much for that bat" Hosk has had an epic year as a rookie...........place bets now!!!!

As much as I would enjoy seeing these two bat owning heavyweights going one on one - the pretty boy vs the bruiser, I think the rose bowl might be the ideal venue - I can't really sell these - one I have score my highest score with and the other is totally battered with a broken handle.
pm or email me if you are really interested and try test my resolve, but you may be better off calling up County and asking if they have any of those stickers left in a draw somewhere and getting one directly from them!
