Another shock result for India - losing to Zimbabwe twice in a row is a big upset, even if the team isnt the first choice.
What do the Indian Fans out there make of this? Just a blip? Or serious problems?

India do have a problems i think! I know this isn't first string side but it can have an effect on everyone, slipping down rankings and getting into a losing habit! They have some class batsmen but some awful bowlers! Bet the fans are going mental! Any reason for a second string side?

Nothing to worry about guys.

Guys like Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Zaheer and Harbhajan are World Class. Resting them all at the same time has left the side unbalanced.

It just lack of experience.

Slipping down the rankings? Behave.

I agree, but this was an opportunity to blood some youngsters as these guys are all in their 30's and the side got smashed...
Jeet, do you think that there is a problem with all the young Indian cricketers earning a load of cash in the IPL, while the quality of the cricket in that tournament slips - how do you think this will effect the test side?

Personally, I think India will have more problems than the Australians did when Langer, Hayden, Gilchrest, Warne and McGrath stopped as there doesn't appear to be the back up.

I felt that as the IPL went on, the players looked exhausted and the quality really dropped, I also feel that the increase of the IPL will mean that the Indian test side will really suffer in the long term.

it will depend on where the young indian players want to go with their carrers if they still aspire to play tests and see that as the pinical of cricket which the younger aussies and england players all see tests as the top

The problem is where will the next Sehwag come from. In the current series, M Vijay and Dinesh Karthik aren't able to destroy the opposition thus putting pressure on the middle order. Normally Sachin, Yuvraj, Dhoni, can make up for Sehwag.

The batting is fine. Raina, Kohli, Rohit, Pandey are all in the selectors eyes for the Test side.

Spinners are also in good shape. Ojha is excellent. Chawla and Mishra are decent leggies. But India can just find a new Kumble over night. He played for 15 years!

Fast bowling is an issue. Zaheer can't play forever. Ishant and Irfan Pathan need to refind their mojo's.

Refind there mojo's? Think they need to discover them! Ishant was good when no-one knew what he was about and Pathan doesn't have one from what i've seen! No offence meant btw, just my opinion!

Sorry disagree.

Ishant made his name in u19 cricket in England. Nick Knight was bigging him up. That was the first time I ever saw him. Also a mug bowler wouldn't have Punter Ponting in his back pocket.

Irfan Pathan was magnificent during the first 3 years of his career. Since then the 'mojo' has been misplaced. You don't get 250 International wickets being talentless.

I think that is a fair assessment jeet. I would say that sehwag is going to impossible to replace. He will go down as a truly great player. Seriously, he is the current player I would pay most to watch, with kp second.

Irfan is getting the ugly ending of the political stick in Indian cricket..

Regardless of the fact the team is very unexperienced, it is worry some to think the future of Indian cricket might not be as bright as one would think..

Players such as Sachin and Shewag don't come in every generation..

Zim won again today (thrashed Sri Lanka)... it is good to watch them slowly returning to international cricket after the termoil...
