Just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to hit over the top? As last season it was something i didn't do and i feel i could have scored more runs if i did it. I am going to try and work on it in the winter nets but if anyone had any tips they would be appreciated.

head down watch the ball and use your head, dont hit it to the deep if someones out their..

yea as eizy said and some big forearms will always help
-
i always ive your hitting ova the top punch the ball as in check ur shot
-
I find this easy as i am big built so can just easily hit over the top but when i am going for it like at the end of an innings i tend to hold the bat really tight with my bottom hand.

chrissy u a swiper or a grafter
-
what u mean?
-
do u pick 1s and 2s or smack the ball all ova
-

If you bat right handed, try straightening your right arm a bit. Although it may require hitting the ball harder then usually carressing one through the gap. Just you've gotta commit 100% to it. Hesitate and you'll be lucky to not get out
-
Confidence is the key back yourself and commit early and stick withit trust your judgement even if you dont get all of it if your commited chances are you will get enough of it to clear a man n the ring

open the face a little

When hitting over the top the key is to make a connection in front of your front foot. Therefore taking the ball early and trying to pick the correct ball i.e on a length on or slightly wide of off stump. Also make sure that you hit it in your percentage area such as extra cover or straight. AND BE POSITIVE
Straight is often best as the ball is easiest to hit straight! ;D
