Title: Eng vs aus
Post by: roco on June 27, 2010, 01:51:52 PM
Just watching this before footy starts and tait is bowling the speed of light at 97mph with an average of 96.5 plus one 82mph slower ball now that's quick but should still be a win for England

out played out thought out manourved

in my 25 years of watching england i have never seen such a bunch of pre madonna ever that includes the wizard of oz manager aka the mad wizzard cappello.

joking a side our defending was at best sunday pub stuff we made germany algeria look world beaters and to be fair germany are average at best..

7 of that side should never wear the 3 lions again it time we stopped listning to the media and start to realise were no were near as good as we think we are....

is the talent out there to take us forward i have not seen it and can see england going backward it terms of technical football we are years away

The talent is there but we are in the same situation holland were in a few years back all the indvidual talent but not a team I know they did not play well but Rooney gerrard terry a.cole are up there just not when they play for England and certainly not in the same league as messi or ronaldo

ps thought you were older than 25 dave

i 31 but first thought was 86 maradonna and all.

terry is not world class and has never been....

time for terry, lampard, upson, james, barry, and for glenn johnson bloody hell he is unfit or what .....

overeaction maybe but one question name me the top ten english strikers and you will be trauling the championship and players like maynard

the quality is not there name the future england side and it does not look that rosy at all

True what gets me is we needed goals and he throws heskey on who cannot score when you have crouch while not the most talented seems to score whenever he comes on for England as his record shows?

A very good point was made on the BBC that Germany have:

- Homegrown player quotas to keep a high percentage of germans playing in the top clubs
- Winter breaks to protect the players from fatigue
- Academies to develop young talent

I look at England and all I see is a very cosmopolitan, multi national premier league with only 40% of players eligible to play for england, no breaks whatsoever so players get tired and have no recovery periods, and not one academy to rival those in Holland, Germany and even the US - The Burton saga has dragged on for half a decade now.

Wayne Rooney was as useful as Michael Ballack. No motivation, desire, drive. There is no one to replace these players and I highly doubt we will qualify for 2014. Absolute effing disgrace. Total shambles.

Germany an average side at best? They had severe key players go down with injuries before the world cup, and their youngsters are top draw.

I agree we need a winter break or something along those lines but as for home grown players half the german side were not born in Germany while I have nothing against this as if you have a choice who to play for fair enough but they have been compared with the English cricket team lol

after watching thurdays game in cardiff it doenst seem like they tried to make much of a push to post a total....in the crowd we all opted for 250-60 and they fell well short of that after having a guestimate with 10 overs left!!!

todays the shout was for 300+ by the comentators early doors which feel away pretty quickly from what i heard....anyone backing a 5-0 whitewash for the first time in how knows long???????

I say yes back the boys!!! sticking my neck on the line for a 5-0 win :)

The performances in SA were shocking; brought back memories of the dark, dark days of Graham Taylor's term as manager.

The last thing football needs is a winter break. The season is too long as it is. Lots of players get breaks as it is with the international games, or if they get knocked out of the FA cup early. The season should start no earlier than the August bank holiday weekend and the main league season should be finished by the Mayday bank holiday weekend.

Whilst there are winter breaks in other counties, the clubs seem to have training camps and nice money making friendlies.

Dont be daft - Of course I support england! I said that I am pretty much english but dont consider myself to be one because my ethnic origin is not british.
