Better than the last stickers... also I really like your blog - Great effort mate!
I think the front sticker should be made a bit bigger?
-
Thanks Leo, I'll try the front longer and maybe a bit thinner if I'm doing that....
-
Look good and i agree that maybe the front sticker could be a bit longer.

Hello Andy,
I have just finished re-touching mine, and Ive found that the back sticker looks better (to me atleast) if its not full width, so youve got to strike a happy medium between this and having it wide enough to protect the splice from moisture. Im not a fan of very long face splice stickers either (I had some matrrixx bats in to work on a while ago and I doubt that there would have been 45% willow exposed on the face). You could try lengthening them slightly but perhaps even having a seperate small sticker offset below with its top edge matching the bevel angle and then the rest of it doing and saying what ever you want (contrasting colour though). Even try the bevel angle, slanting back the other way.
Possibly a white grip would go well with them, but they do get grubby very quickly even from light use!
What program did you use to design them? The logos good, and would look brilliant in chrome though youll need to track down a foil printer for that. Your on the right track with the toe sticker, Ive noticed generally the most effective designs contain circles/ovals etc or match the contour of the spine and toe well. Also keep them understated in size.

BL400* your a star. The sticker on the back is about 1.5cm thiner in width on the back and agreed it looks loads better. I dont think I will lengthen them but was toying with the idea of having a bat name sticker on them and your idea of putting one along the but with a beveled edge in parallel to bottom egde of the front sticker I think is way to go. I'll give it try and probably keep it so thanks. Used Adobe Photoshop but I bumble my way around it not like CAD mate ;D

Can we have a look at your stickers please? I'm interested to have a butchers.

Those stickers make the bat look cheap!
-
Maybe because he has only printed them off on his own printer?
-
Yeah but they dont really catch the eye do they???
-
Off a home printer they're going to look dull, I think with a shinier more professional finish they'll look much better.
-
In my opinion the design is fine....I've walked passed it a few times now and like them alot....
And BTW custom bats don't have to be expensive ;D
-
I think the stickers are poor but they will problays look better when they are printed properly.
-
No offence norbs but they look like them play sport bats that you get in them £1.99 cricket sets out of pricewise!
-
;D It is all subjective
-
Whats this? Sticker Factor???
I'd send it to boot camp.
-
I hope Danni is my mentor

na cheryl

be greedy and have both

It is like offering FattusCattus or Talisman a chocolate chip cookie or a double chocolate Brownie
The Chocolate Chip Cookie is desirable but the Double Chocolate Brownie is more of a minx
Saying that if those two were there I doubt there'd be many double chocolate brownies left, damn it I wish I never invited them now!!!!
Whilst I think about that I've "pimped" my stickers up with a bit chrome as per BL400 suggestion and to make my bats look more expensive ;D
-
Norby, consider a frosted effect for the splice stickers, or possibly a see-through or white background - and definately white grips.
Now stop messing about with stickers and get your handle-smoother out!

Thought I'd show you what I ended up with for 2009. The Name sticker is slightly smaller, that is thinner and not as tall [looked a bit big in pictures when I took them
Oh and I also put them on straight when I'm doing it properly ;D

they are some of the best looking stickers i've ever seen! think they'd look even better with a white grip!
-
Very mice Andy, i'm almost jealous myself!
You could've put them on a decent looking bat!
-
really like the front but the back?? i'm not so sure on, but still far better than most

How dare you Chris :o I love that bat, the good ye olde Heeby Jeeby, it is my mess around bat you should see the hole I've drilled in the handle :D Going to stick it in the airing cupboard over the winter give it an oil then see how it goes
Slogger whats not to like the Back it the same as the Front.... Forget about the double sided cricket bat the double sided sticker is the way forward ;)
-
its not the top bit, as you say its the same as the front. its the weird stickers down the back, but i'm starting to like them the more i look at them
-
Oh the ones that say Heeby Jeeby, they won't be there are just left over from before. The only thing missing is the logo sticker at the bottom of the back of the bat near the toe and the one's on the side....
-
they look amazing mate might have to get one of those after christmas when i have some money
-
Those stickers look quality
-
Very nice Norbair. If you want a production run we can do them for you. Let me know if you are intersted and i will give you a price.
Cheers
Kieron

I do like them, maybe would make the splice stickers either a bit thinner or a bit longer.

Just to let you know I am only making a small number of bats next year maybe 15-20. My preference now is to get them out locally and that is where the most orders have come from anyways... especially after trying to get one out to OZ for about a month now [long, long story] . There will be however a review bat going to Talisman, like he said on a previous post somewhere and maybe another [2nd edition] one to Tom.
Still feel free to contact me though as I am very fickle :D
Oh I will up the prices accordingly to account for the exclusivity ;) on this limited edition run :D hehehehehehehe
-
Norbair those stickers look great. Is that one you have, is it done on your own printer or professionaly?
-
Those are testers done on an inkjet printer onto vinyl
-
Look good Norb but you wouldnt really know the brand from just looking at them? Unless you knew the SAF already?
Just my thoughts
-
How much for the Scaletrix ?
-
Hey Norbs what does it say on the back of the bat in the middle? It looks like Heeby...
EDIT: I presume that is the name of the old bat! Doh...
-
Also please tell me your keeping the 'SAF' on the edges?
