As I said in another topic recently, I was thinking of picking up a monster 3lb 2oz Distinction... I went up today and got it! It is literally one of (if not) the biggest bats I have ever seen.
Specs-
Weight-3lb 2oz
Profile- Huge edges, mid to low middle.
Grains- 11 Grains, most straight with some blemishes on one edge and the back (not bothered at all)
Price- £220 reduced from £300

Let me know what you think, Ian

Looks a monster!
I wouldn't be able to pick up, let alone wield it!
-
Looks fantastic, not like the normal distinction profile.
Very classy stickers aswell... you must have some guns to wield that!
What profile are the harlequins like these days?
-
Holy (No Swearing Please)!
That will be an absolute GUN!
-
Too heavy for me, but looks very nice mate.
-
cheers guys, yeah i'll have to spend a bit of time in the gym this winter!! but in the shop i had a good think and played a lot of 'shadow shots' and i should be fine with it.
and i didnt look at the harlequins too much today, but the middles are pretty high on them. theres a big sale down at m&h at the moment so get yourself a bargain!!
-
I think that normally i would be inclined to say that that £220 is way too much for a bat - but i know you've always supported millichamp, you like their gear, their a local brand and at the end of the day they can provide you with what you want - it's good old fashioned brand allegiance and i like it!!!!
-
Absolutely right Dom, it's just guaranteed quality that does it for me. I went up with a mate who is in his late 20's and we both agreed that we have never seen a bad performing Millichamp! So easy decision really!
-
My millichamp was fantastic, one of the best performing bats ive had and lasted for ages.
I will get one again someday!
-
That isn't a stock shape is it? The ones i have seen have had a low middle with a huge spine.
Any way, looks good. Just don't go selling this!
-
my jaw has just hit the gowned !! :O
i want one !! just need a job now :(
-
The Distinction (or atleast the one I have) made me an overnight fan of M&H. Beautiful balance and goes like a gun.
This one has a very different profile to the one I have which corresponds more to Liam's description above. But this 3 pounder looks absolutely humungous. Would't want to bowl at you!!
-
Yeah i love the normal distinction profile, may actually be after one if anyone has one going, (hopeful i know!)
however this does look like a monster, good luck with it mate! Your gonna be hugeee after the winter to swing that timber!
-
Cheers for the comments guys! Cant wait To start using it now!
-
just a quick update on the bat-
A few mates have used it in games pretty successfully, one of them is a first teamer who says it is the best bat he has ever used....
Taps up really nicely. Great bat worth the money!
-
That bat is huuuuuuuge, thought the distinction was the new version of the retro although the shape is very different to my old retro, which was also an absolute belter...............
you must have some pretty big guns to wield that monster lol

I visited M&H in early August and also immediately spotted this bat facing to the door at the end of their display. This was shortly before the sale and it was priced at £300. I was advised the weight was 3lb (it was not written on the shoulder).
It has massive, fat edges, the photos really do not do it justice. It is the biggest bat I have ever seen. The pick up was not too heavy to make it unuseable (I am using a M&H Harlequin 2lb 13oz as my match bat); it was the pounds of the price tag rather than of the pick up that was more off-putting (and I had just got a new Distinction).
£220 is a decent price, matching any on line offers.
Cosmetically, the willow was very similar in appearance to the M&H Distrinction I have recently purchased on-line from Barringtons, in that it is decent but perhaps not as would be expected given the sales pitch from M&H on their website.
This bat has the potential to be awesome - do let us know how you get on with it in matches.
-
Welcome to the forum Alan, hope the bat goes well for you. Maybe get some pictures up? ;)
-
Hey Alan, yes it's a pretty famous bat being positioned right at the front of the shop!
So far 4 people have used the beast in games, as I cannot play at the moment due to injury.... and all 4 have genuinely said that it is the best bat they have ever used! Its a real gun, I will just struggle to face any seriously quick bowlers (Around 75- 80mph), but there was only 1 in our league last year....
-
Slightly relevant. I went into Globbe Sports at the County Ground in Bristol today and saw a M&H Solution size 6 in there, and it was huge! Even for a size six it had more wood in it than my Ayrtek and weighed much less
-
I have finally added pictures of my M&H Distinction in the "Your Kit" section.
Ian, I believe the cosmetics of the willow are similar to your monster bat. The profile is different though, I was advised in the M&H shop that yours is profiled to a pro players specification.
-
Good work Alan! I saw the pics of your bat, very nice :)
Ah, I wonder which pro player that would be then... Quite rare for a bat that weight to be used on the pro circuit! Would be interesting to find out, but I bet Rob gave nothing away...

Martin Van Jarsveld
-
pro player spec but not weight maybe, like shape and middle etc just not a low density cleft, or they just fancied making a monster!!
-
Im not sure to be honest, could be either of those reasons! I'm just happy with the bat, have only used it properly once and went really nicely :)
