Title: Chase Bat the batmakers own bat
Post by: procricket on August 20, 2010, 10:47:32 AM
Well after moving up the weights to around 2lb 9-10 i was left batless...

I made enquires on here and got offered many good bats for good prices but i called in a favour and got this....
I'am not going to tell you it was made for him him and him it simple it the batmakers bat his own bat used by him so surely can not be a bad one...

Well when it came it has a few marks on it but hey i can tell you in terms of looks of the bat and shape and balance and performance is without doubt the best bat i have had in my hands...

It a mixture of shapes a little like a gt but with a bigger toe picks up well and is everything i wanted in a bat..

spec

2lb 9oz
15 grains
super light pick up

pictures to follow

but i'am one happy bunny today

What is the Clover on the back of some Chase bats? Is it like the Castrol sticker on Gilchrist's bat, just sponsorship?

Looks a lush bat, and to be honest if you were a bat maker you would so keep the very best bit of willow for yourself!!

no this has not the clover it a one off this bat...

the clover is the best of the best in terms of playing quality 1 in 150 bats only get this quality based on performace only

looks a beauty . . .this one has a bow in it as compared to the other chase bats i've seen recently on the forum Dave.

yes it has mate not massive one though the profile makes it look more bowed than it actualy is with the gentle bow in the back opf the blade..

This is truely a custom shape from Dan as it made to his spec like i said it a mixture of orca and a little gt...

The bow in the original finback is much bigger than this but the orca is a traditional English shaped bat

well after a little net i can confirm it a belter middle is simply massive and it pick up similar to my 2lb 6oz bat but with much more power..

the profile is a delight you just feel like it moulds and groves if you get what io mean when you drive the ball..

A outstanding bat picked by the maker for it performance and looks..

top quality

If you advertise one more chase you'll end up have to pay advertisers fees  :o

Is this as good as the "GH" bat?

andy i have no idea i never touched the chase bat "gh" mate got offred it but never had it..

all i know it as good as my laver when the laver was in top condition but after i had a chat with a few freinds today we did agree in my eyes there good bats from most brands and nothing much in the top brands at all...

i know dan makes good bats as do you (yes i have had a hit with one) and other on here..

i take your point mate might have to talk about other brands a little more

oh and this bat is not for sale for no amount of money as it is a one

Not having a go Dave just saw a chance for some banter after seeing you post the 4th or 5th bat related to Chase.  :D

yep, I know you're not a one man band, I've seen you extolled the virtues of James' L&W's

Dave, fancy lending me the Laver? as your feeling generous ;)

Dave offered as it's slightly heavy for him so thought why not

Nothing wring with the tt or my talisman but still should be getting another next week :):):)

The laver is his match bat and close to retirement so doubt he will

Just got back from nets and I must say strange but good bat this one goes very very well off the very mid middle but even with not much around the toe seems to still go well down there which is the strange but good part little light for me but a very good bat none the less and some of the best grains seen on a non laver sig bat I feel
