Title: Phillip Hughes
Post by: Alvaro on September 01, 2010, 12:27:21 PM
i just wondered about people's thoughts regarding Phillip Hughes being given a short term contract with Hampshire?
Seems very counter productive to the England Ashes cause, giving an Aussie a chance to prove his fitness before the big series this november.  >:(

I can't see Western Australia or Queensland giving Ian Bell an opportunity to get back in nick after injury ...  :(

quite a lot of topics on Phillip Hughes, given he is not going to play in the Ashes and isn't all that good I think it is largely irrelevant.

Ian Ronald Bell will be playing in the warm up matches and wont need to play for some over rated rubbish Ausie state side. He will then SMASH the dirty convict bowling all across Australia.

You heard it hear first. 8)

Intreresting one as worked quite well for England in 2009 when Strauss could have a good look at his unique style duringe the mountain of runs he scored in his few innings and then Flintoff worked him out very easily. Not a problem to me as can't see him displacing either Katich or Watson

that seems slightly less measured than normal buzz, have you been on the sherbert? or is all that guardian blogging lowering your standards? ;)

No drinking, just eaten a packet of skittles and had a very strong cup of tea though. Plus wanted to get a response from the Hughes fan club ;)

Perhaps it's another reason for reducing the amount of first class counties... Team England don't need these self-serving South Coast counties ;) (only joking mr hosk)

They also managed to find room for Hughes in their line-up, but couldn't manage to find a space for KP (I recall a quote along the lines of "we don't need him, we'll stick with the lads who've been playing!") But suddenly there's room for Hughes...
Perhaps the money that filters down from Team England to the counties should be reviewed in Hampshires case...

Hughes replaced McKenzie. So overseas for overseas.

KP indicated that he was going to leave, so HCCC are right to not pick him again, as it won't benefit them in the long run.

Bransgrove has enough money, why else did Pietersen move there in the first place??

He has dropped the skills and become pure ego, he needs a good slap and I think the placement of him at Surrey was more a reality check than the need to find form, maybe it will give him an idea of life outside England XI. I also note that neither Middlesex or Surrey want him, he has been forced upon Surrey.
