I just got a bat. It has a small tiny blemish near the edge (on the front face). So I was woderinf if it is anything to worry of?
Thanks

I always thought blemishes were cosmetic faults and did not affect performance.
It would be interesting to see what a professional thinks of them.

Unless you play all (or most) of your shots with the edge, and don't use the middle, then it shouldn't be a problem?
And it depends what 'blemish' is? If it's a butterfly stain, then people say they go better! If it's a little mark, then really don't see the problem? And if it's purely cosmetic then it shouldn't be a problem, as performance is surely more important?
It's hard to comment really until we see what this blemish is, where it is, how big it is, etc?

tap with mallet over that area I think gives an idea too along with rest .

Sent pic to me - it only looks like a stain.....and imo it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference!!

It does feel smooth and there is no knot in that small tiny mark/blemish. I hope it is not too serious but I was just scared that by getting odd number of edges will it chip off the wood?
-
I'm not sure if it is a stain......though i might be wrong. Looks like it could just be a little bit of graping, though im sure the powers that be (Norb and Talisman) may give a better appraisal :D
I wouldnt worry about it - just a cosmetic issue, it shouldnt affect the longevity or performance of the bat.

Just a bit of graping - if you don't like what it looks like, but a hammer edge on the face and most of it will be covered up.
My bat has graping on it like that - it wont make a blind bit of difference to how the bat plays
