Title: WARNING
Post by: Talisman on September 08, 2010, 10:08:31 PM
Just a quick message to all forum members to be aware that as the forum gains popularity it also gains the attention of people wishing to steal from you by conning their way to either money or kit. We have always welcomed trade and 99% of it goes smoothly between members. Unfortunately we cannot ensure that all members are honest and so you will have to take steps to make sure that any sale is above board and legit.

The Admin team are putting a restriction on new members to have been a member for a set length of time and to also post 50 times before they can sell goods privately here. This does not guarantee any sale to be good but should aid things. If you have any doubts about an offer please feel free to contact any member of Admin and inform them of your concerns.

If any banned member asks you to trade do not, they are banned for a reason and you are at serious risk of being a victim of theft or a con.

Great idea this you should have to contribute to the forum before you start flogging stuff
And may stop banned members creating new accounts to sell stuff

very good idea, perhaps details should be posted to warn all members?

Good stuff, I hope people don't start joining and posting 50 spam like replies though.

I accept that what I dislike may be interesting to others (but you know what I mean).

Thanks for reminding me I need to leave some.

You guys are on top of everything, the ICC should get the admins to investigate match fixing. It'd be sorted in a week.

How do you leave feedback for people?

yer that would be a good idea to leave feedback so that way if you are selling/buying it gives u a little insight in what other forum members have said about the seller.

Agree that trade feedback should be encouraged. Please make sure you leave some form of comment.

Just a reminder to all members that trading with people is done at your own risk and responding to requests from new members with no posting history for items wanted, outside the "Items Wanted" board that admin have not yet had a chance to remove, as a private individual, runs the risk of you being scammed, as we have seen in the past.

I wasn't around back then so unsure what talisman had done. But his profile still says 76 positive feedback. And zero negative feedback.

Surely if he is what people are making out, someone would have left negative feedback? Or does the siphstem not work(I seem to struggle to get purchasers to both leaving any)

Now I am curious to know the history behind these. Did some digging on the forum but wasn't able find much other than some people waiting weeks for their stuff and not able to contact him.

I got banned for slandering him when I always new he was a theif and a charlatan but that got sorted by some decent admin later on. I questioned newbery stickered bats without stamps.

He basically shafted people with larsons bats disguised as newbery and most of the forum though the willow shone from his bumhole.

Funny now looking back some very influential people where taken in by him.

People who liked him will tell you of tales of willow supply and the great middle man whilst most will tell you he was a com man who came out with some right rubbish.

Dan at chase has a great story of him trying to buy bats with wine and chasing him out of the workshop with a size 5.

Glad the forum has evolved

Title: Re: WARNING
Post by: tejasapatel on April 17, 2014, 09:26:06 PM
Wow...thought he might have conned people out of a few hundred or sold a few fakes but the numbers 14k and 3k amaze me.

Based on his trade reviews he got to 50+ people on here.

Could it be the wine he was trying to trade at Chase had fake stickers too?

Brings a different connotation to the term "Tim Keeley produces another gun"...

I can't get over that figure! Ridiculous!

I have to say - I don't understand why anyone would extend a middle man like him 14k credit - absolute madness.

Just sayin'

I recommend you don't use sledgehammer action! It can affect your chances of cash pay outs!!

Good luck finding him!

I think he has deliberately kept a low profile for a couple of years. Not many posts on facebook or linked in.

I'm not on Twitty or whatever it is, so I can't comment on this.

I find it sad that people are actually capable of abusing others and stealing what they've earned themselves through their own hard work.
