i like it, wonder who the batmakers are behind adidas
-
I have to admit I do really like the look of those stickers, the bat pictured is the Pellara Elite retailing at £330.
-
£330 bloody hell, that would have to be some piece of willow... should take bets on who will be first to have one on here..... my money would be on slogger
-
With regard to the manufacturer I have been informed that it is believed to be SG. That came from my friend who makes bats in India and also runs a factory next door to SG.
My bet is on Gramw.
-
you never cease to amaze me with your cricketing knowledge... hopefully it can compete with other leading brands. gramw came to mind but slogger seems to have a new bat every week
-
England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen will be using a new adidas cricket bat at the Stanford Series — part of the new adidas cricket hardware range for 2009 including bats, pads and gloves. For more information please call 0870 2404 204.

More info in this topic, no more pics though.

And a place (am i allowed to say the name) you can now pre order the bats and images are avaliable soon. The cheapest is £140
-
Yes you can say the name as we're a forum independent of any retailer, I take it it's Cricket Hockey you're referring to?

lol well it does look nice... and if the wii sells, hmmmm nah i think my money is going to chris easby next!
-
Lol! My bet is with Yash getting one!
That looks really nice... gloves look vile though!
-
Speaking to the guy last night that is making KP's bats for Addidas and soon to be one other England members bats!
All addidas bats are from India, but this one small firm will be making the Pro's bats and dealing with repairs.
I saw 2 of the addidas bats yesterday and both a dif to the one KP has in the pic one balck and blue, one black and orange. Its a great bit of business for the company that has been given the deal.
-
So what's happening with Woodworm then? Is the company going under?
-
Woodworm has gone under.... check their website out.... its down
-
I couldn't justify £330 for a top of the range cricket bat, when you could get the equivalent for less than half the price from any batmaker.
Must admit i am a big fan of the stickers.
-
£330 for a bat bloody hell man thats just stupid!
-
you can pre order from cricket and hockey
-

haha, i am tempted but need the cash first!
-
Feel a bit sorry for woodworm - doesn't take much for kp to move, bit more money in his pocket and he's off!
-
Like the stickers and the grains on it looks good to.
-
had to turn the laptop upside down to have a proper look! looks good yeah my bets of slogger to!
-
The stickers look really nice. If the bats are being made in India by SG then I will get them directly from there. £330 is quite a price though.
But they should get some good sales in with KP as the endorser.
-
I like them and can see them being very successful, however I think they are ripping people of, but they will get away with it unfortunately.
-
All the big brands charge £330 or more for their top of the range, why else do they have the money to pay people so much money to use their kit. They all upgrade willow, they all cut corners and maximize their profits. But a lot of people import bats and claim they are made in England and claim bats are a better grade than they really are.
-
woodworms gone under.... thank god for that
-
Do you know that for sure or is it a guess???
-
I read somewhere that it has actually gone under. but cant remember where
-
Then its a guess as I doubt anyone here is privy to the goings on inside Woodworm, all you know is what you hear from people that speak to retailers. It was common knowledge about their troubles 3 months ago but I did not post like some others out of respect for any firm trying to avoid administration.
You haven't read anything anywhere about them going under unless it was tittle tattle and unfounded gossip on a forum as nothing has been decided yet.

Me and a mate were talking about this bat the other day, and he has emailed me over a design he has done. He said he just copied the bat from the KP picture
-
Yet another company heading down the same route as the other manufacturers when will they learn that mass producing bats out in India and charging over £300 don't work. Even if you have the likes of KP endorsing them unless the goods are first class on both performance and quality they wont sell enough to work.
Just look at woodworm ?
-
I reckon they'll sell a large number of bats, however not in the higher ranges. It will be in Junior and low grade Adult bats. They've got the money to make it successful too.
Kookaburra are a company who have always outsourced work and they have been ok, Puma are the same.
-
I think it will work as people will want to know if all the hype and mystery surrounding the release that people will buy them just to see how good they actually are.
-
WHo is this mystery smaller company to make pro bats
-
Yeah, KPs gloves are naff but I hear the other ranges have a more classic look.
Cricket Specialist also seems to be stocking for 2009.
Any further news on Woodworm? What about damage to Woodworm bats in the next year? I bought mine at the end of the season. Will I be able to replace / repair my bat if it breaks??

The batting pads look quite nice.
The transfers on the bat look quite attractive, hope the prices are more reasonable than intially put on the forum and some websites.

Not to keen on the gloves but the stickers look nicer than the plain ones.
-
The gloves are starting to grow on me! And I think the bat stickers above look alot better than the ones used in the stanford 20/20. Although, the back of the bat is disappointing (sticker wise)
