Im coaching a few colts on friday anyone have any fun fielding drills they could do?
-
Have you got a Kannon? ;)
If not, get 2 rows, make the 1st two lie down on their stomach's. Roll a ball out and they race each other to the ball, the person who gets there first slides/or just picks the ball up and relay's the ball to the 2nd person who throws it to the keeper.

The best way to do is keep everyone involved. Hit and run cricket (thrown underarm by coach about 10 meters away so need for pads) is always a good one as you will get lots of shots go way in the air and of course lots of run outs. Keeper is the only person to need protection as he will be taking the ball in from the field.

I do that with Under 10/12's
Try something like fumbleball for colts side?
Even do a 5 a-side footie/touch rugby warm up??

Has anyone ever tried giving slip catches with a hockey stick?
It works brilliantly! i tried it today and it went a treat...
Just get someone to rifle half volleys and try driving them/use a bowling machine
set the cordon up and bobs your uncle ;D
