Title: black cat bat
Post by: lazza32 on September 24, 2010, 03:41:40 AM
No one has actually said how these bats play. I am assuming they play brilliantly given there price. They look sh*t hot.

I think Petehosk has said several times how well his Blackcat plays. Maybe search the forum a bit more before making a fairly useless new topic

Pete rates his as one of the best if not the best bat he's used

My bros voodoo goes extremely well off the mallet but has never been used yet....

They're not cheap tho

kenbriooo. To be honest I was only really interested in the shadow, The only thread i could find was one where they had only tested it with a mallet not in the nets. Canners1983 did a thread on his brothers voodoo which also was not tested in the nets. There were a couple of other threads relating to the joker. I did however scan the internet further and found a small article with wisden magazine.

Sorry if this is out of turn but I didn't think it was a useless topic to be fair thought the Idea of this forum was to find and provide information on Custom Cricket equipment? (that was my understanding of it anyway) Need to be careful that  members on here don't create an environment that becomes elitist (like other forums) which eventually would put people off asking questions.

Maybe the wording could've been better like "Now the season is over who has been using a Black Cat Shadow and how did it go?"

I for one would love to know how The Black Cat Bats have performed because lets be fair the look awesome!

My shadow was my match bat for most of the season.

I rate it very highly based on almost 30 seasons of playing cricket using top end bats back to the days of using GN100 scoop and a DF Magnum followed by Dynadrive, Ridgeback, GN Ultimates, then Fusion superbests

They are not particulary a strong side .. . .but they have a few decent players.

You will need medium pacers and spinners there. best of luck for 2morow.

thought you would be at lords today. . .

I used it from June time as I used my Joker early doors.  As you know I had a Laver Private Bin Carbo too.  I finished the season using the joker again ascent wickets were slow and low.

I will post some pics

When we played there the pitch was rock solid, a couple of bouncers from our team but as they didn't have much their bowling was slow and length so it went around a bit.
Tom if you play the same team we did then Buzz's 178 could be under threat I mean I managed 109 off 94 ;) Although the boundaries are fairly big the outfield is quick!.

My Blk Cat Shadow ( stickered as a Voodoo) goes really well.
And its massive, 2.85, very light pick up, edges at a healthy 36mm.

My Black Cat Shadow is 2'13, 15 ruler straight grains, edges are not massive, but the middle is so big and the bat goes like a rocket! It has been in my kitbag since I used it. But just got another Shodow last week - 2'14 but it is a massive cleft!
41/42mm edges and big all over! It's gonna be fun trying that one in the nets!!  :D

out of all the bats i have seen these bats suit me down to the ground - low middles and big profiles. All i need to do now is save up and not tell the other half!!

looks good mate, looks a bit like the willostix

out of interest why did you opt for the shoulders to be removed?
Title: Re: black cat bat
Post by: lazza32 on November 30, 2010, 12:07:32 AM
I was looking for a T20 style bat. I wanted a bat that would give me bat speed, great pickup and chunky bits. So my thinking was they could take the wood from the shoulders and put it into the middle. I actually asked for TT shoulders but got somewhere between TT and Willowstix but I am more than happy with the final product. To me shoulders are redundant in bat design as they serve no real purpose except for looks.
