I can play most shots reasonably well, I can't play leg side shots across to the leg side to save my life. I just defend them or play straight or inside out.
Anyone with any useful tips would be much appreciated, thanks

p.s. i am fine with pull shots and hook shots, just the fuller deliveries aimed towards middle and leg stump

My county coach says it's all about dipping your leading shoulder into the shot. Once you commit with your shoulder, your hands and head are likely to follow, keeping you over the ball and in control. Basically just get your front shoulder dipping towards the ball and it should help. Helped me a lot :)

Are your eyes level- check your stance in the mirror, maybe you're falling over a bit. Try to think about moving your head towards the ball eg when you play off side shot, youur head goes to the offside.
When you play an on drive, lean your head towards mid on, and transfer your weight towards mid on too. Also, keep a high elbow, almost aiming towards where you want to hit it.

ok thanks lads, will try both :)
appreciate any other helpful advice

the late (and great coach) Bob Woolmer has some good tips on you tube buddy. A couple for you to check out:
Check out:www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-soOsOLIGQ from 4 mins 30- leg glance front and back foot.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNCkLdepTo0&feature=related on drive,about 1 minute 40 secs in.
I'd watch the whole video to be honest if you want to hone that technique!

In the nets. . .take guard on or outside off stump. . . get your mates to bowl at u.
this will mean that most balls can be played onto the leg side. .

Throwdowns full on legstump will help with this....

for me, as with any technical issue, you just need to put in the timne and work out what method works for you, the throwdowns or the standing outside off, whatever it is, jsut putting in the work was the best way for me to overcome the problem :)

when you take your stance make sure that your chin is on top of your shoulder, stay upright and wait for the ball
-
Don't plant your foot on middle stump.

Don't plant your foot on middle stump.
that is very important
watch michael clarke play he has the perfect technique whilst playing leg side shots
head straight and still, leading with the shoulder and make sure you keep the bat face open as long as possible

what kind of a stance do you take - open or closed?
Do you have a trigger
when you say leg side shots, are you trying the glance or the drive (as you say you have trouble with the fuller, rather than shorter ball)?
I ask all these questions as there are lots of different reasons why a leg side shot may be difficult and you set up may make it harder - as can trying to hit the ball too hard and falling over and not having your eyes level which makes playing through the leg side impossible. Some good comments above though.
As mentioned, Michael Clarke is a wonderful player through the leg side, as is Ian Bell and a talented young player called Tendulkar...
Edit: forgot to mention that sometimes because of the line of the ball you can become a bit unsighted with legside shots if you are in a bad position, so players struggling to play leg side shots frequently need to watch the ball a bit more carefully (a bit of an over rated suggestion, I know ;) )

Trying to hit the ball too hard. Hmmm. Always have that problem. Heavier bat to stop me being able to swing as hard seems to work quite well... Oh, and concentrating!
