I have been given a MRF Wizard 400 which is supposed to be a grade 1 top of the range but it has 3 knots and 2 butterfly stains on the face :S
How can this be a grade 1 and justify the £150 price tag ?

It probably doesnt! Unless it goes like a train then i wouldnt worry!
-
it is alright not the greatest bat but did seam strange :S
-
you got given it though so i wouldnt worry!!
-

-

Is it genuine?
-
blimey that looks a bit gruesome! ???
-
yes it had the stickers on it when i got it but had to take them off to fix it still have the front one and the bottom back one is still on
-
Yeah wouldnt call that grade 1 however well it goes!! not a pretty sight, no offense!
-
is that the bride of frankenstein?
-
Hologram sticker
-
id be very suprised if thats a) genuine b) grade one willow.....the scat iv got admittedly has a few marks on it but not knots and anything like that!
-
is that the bride of frankenstein?
steady even franky wasnt that ugly!
-
yes it had the hologram sticker on the back
it does look bad but in person it does not look too bad with tape on :P
-
so he has standards then good on him
-
That bat is nasty
-
looks like grade 4 at the best, normally Wizard is much better then this quality!!
-
If it is real then it is the usual trick of using a very cheap cleft to sell as a grade 1 bat, if it is a fake then it is the usual trick of using a very cheap cleft to sell as a fake grade 1 bat.
-
yer shoulder broke off it in nets
Surely that statement in itself describes the quality of willow? :o
-
Not necessarily, procricket laver has a broken shoulder that snapped and that was one of the best bats i have used!
-
Maybe, but this one looks relatively new. When did the shoulder go on the Laver?
-
looking on the brightside,it can always double as a walking stick during the winter.
Looks aren't everything,my bat has black stains on it but goes pretty well and has an enormous profile for a 2'7.
-
I guess it comes back to the OP getting the bat for free, so whether or not it's a G1 shouldn't really matter as long as it performs ok.
-
The laver had seen a lot of runs, but was in good nick which is why it was weird! Was a beut though, i loved it :( then it went again!
-
tbf the bat is about 2 years old and i cleaned it up after fixing the shoulder so hopefully it will get some use in the nets over winter and i will see if it preforms like a grade 1
-
It looks very much a fake bat.....no way u can hide such big knots!!!! MRF CAMEO is normally a better quality then this ( cosmetically )
-
it was the same as this with two little ready to play stickers either side of the bat below the stickers
