Hi guys, i have seen these bats knocking around on some retail websites for a while now and cant decide whether to order one (if still available). does anyone on here have one or know of anyone that can advise further? the retail price is £350.00 but they have been reduced by £100.00 in most cases. i am guessing this is due to a lack of sales.
i doubt i would use it much - unless it was very very special but thought it might be nice to say i have one and do my bit for ther AF foundation. all comments welcome.

Arent they just top end iridiums with a different grip and the barclays capital sticker on the back?
-
No idea thats why i'm asking :)
it says replica of Flintoffs bat so that could just mean stickers or could be weight and profile (but i doubt that)
could just be a marketing gimmick but i know none of this for certain so it needs clearing up if anyone can get the brush out 8)

The Iridium 6000x is their top range bat, here is a link http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/acatalog/Puma-Iridium-6000X-Cricket-Bat.html (http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/acatalog/Puma-Iridium-6000X-Cricket-Bat.html) is the 6000x, they are only £10 different in price, so i reckon its the same. Only difference cosmetically (apart from the barclays sticker and the grip) is that the AF bat seems to have 2009 stickers on it

yeah i thought it may have just been the old model labels on the top range bat.
tried looking on the AF foundation site but the page doesnt load for the bat details. grrrr
if its just a 6000 with labels i wont bother but if its made to freddies old puma profile i may be tempted, they were HUGE
-
I guess you'd only know for sure by holding two of them up next to each other (unless anyone has already done this and can confirm or deny). Given the price similarity i'd be amazed if they arent just 6000x bats
-
yeah i guess thats true. if they were the same profile theres no point really as i could get a much nicer bat for the same price.

http://www.affoundation.co.uk/blog/view/10 (http://www.affoundation.co.uk/blog/view/10) is all i could find on the AF site

True. If you were so inclidned to donate to the AF, you could just bung them a few quid as a donation
-
thats what i got up but i cant see the image still. i know what they look like though. it does say they are an exact replica but still would be nice to know for definite. and yeah could just send them a few quid instead
-
I dont think ive even seen one in the shops to say what they are like. Given they are now a 2009 bat and he's now retired, i'd imagine there are a few retailers stuck with them
-
yeah i had that thought. but with not seeing any in the flesh i thought they could have been worth getting hold of.
i'm sure someone on here will have seen or had/have one lol. if not i may just ring the foundation

I will try to post pics of one of Flintoffs actual 2010 Puma IPL bats in my inventory topic in the next month or two if you like?
-
Once again i find myself jealous of the hosk!!
-
;) I know I am a lucky chap!
-
Mr Hosk. Would that be the kinetic you posted previously? Now that's a special bat.
-
The very same - but will be looking at taking some better photos, as a bat of that quality deserves quality pics taken! 8)

I could not agree more. That bat is a work of art! Have you dared to knock up wit it yet? Id do it outside or somewhere with an EXTREMELY high ceiling 8) Or do you spend your time gently stroking the face
