http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190450891754&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1154
any one used them before ?? , they were made/designed by ayrtek am i right ?
cheers
-
yep and yep and shouldnt still be being sold technically due to the fact the license agreement between us and CCC expired in 2007.....massive school boy error by CCC trying to pitch a new product and brand in cricket at the top end of the price range!!!
-
I'm looking forward to gettin mine soon. Correctly branded though :)
-
yeh few improvements made since these as u would expect......
-
Correctly branded though :)
haha im gna get victimised for having fake ayrek pads now :( o dear
so did CCC basically just order more than they could sell ?
-
think they ordered 500 pairs from memory after saying they could sell 10,000 globally with ease! pitching them at £80.00 instead of easing their way into the market was a bit ambitous in my book...same with the gloves provided them with a great design of glove complete with ACIS (which you can physically feel the difference in impact with it deflated and then deflated when whacking your hand with a bat mallet) and they pitched them at £70!!!! trying to make too big a margin instead of getting the product in circulation IMO
-
That's ridiculous!!! What changes have been made??
-
CCC gear became the main feature of sales and the bargain item!
-
just improvements in materials etc mate nothing in regards to appearance....as leo will vouch for they can take a impact without feeling anything whilst still being lightweight.
thats because they didnt have a license to sell it under their own brand so they sold off all stock to recover funds when they went into bankruptcy :o

yea hopefully they should be good , bargain for £10
-
for £10 that is a top deal!!!!
-
:D :D :D
-
£20 inc delivery
-
£10 as there was a free delivery other courier option , didnt c it till id won ( no idea if it was a mistake but worth a try i thought)
-
I have a pair and they are excellent quality, very snug fit and great protection.Surprisingly they didnt attract as much sledging as expected! Matching CCC gloves are also on Ebay every other week for £15 ish.
-
ended up having to pay £9 for postage still a bargin i think though , they feel really nice on and are in really decent nick but they look a bit big , not sure yet , ill wait and see how good they feel in the nets then decide , protection seems awesome though.
-
So Just out of interest the only way to get hold of "ACIS" Gloves is to get the Canterbury branded ones? cant see them on the Ayrtek Website?? :P
-
No Ayrtek ones yet but believe they're in the pipeline..........Tom?
-
indeed mate looking at a new smaller valve system to integrate into the ACIS, will get Simmy, Pro and Wayne to see how effective they are when they are down next sunday with the bat mallet.....real difference in the impact felt with the ACIS pumped up and deflated :)

Things could get nasty lol
-
lol i still remember the time when we took them into Globe back in 2004 and left Bob to it smacking himself over the knuckles with increasing power to see if he cud feel anything!!!
-
Lol fun for you I bet :P
-
was amused when he was properly going hammer and tong at it in the end!
-
stick your hand next to the bowling machine at 70mph ;)
-
yeh would be interesting! will have to dig out the satra results for them again ;)
-
I hvent been asked about thus guinea pig test Tom!! Haha
-
haha yeh fear not will avoid any broken fingers....will email u boys the plan of attack in a bit re Sunday!
-
I think you could get Graeme Smith to start wearing them with his brittle hands...
-
yeh seems a bit injury prone...perhaps he shud try the GM d3o gloves if they are the optimum protection gloves in their range...broken fingers need to be avoided lol
-
He was wearing the d3o gloves last week and took one on the knuckles from Akhtar and it knocked him out for a couple of games. Came back then with extra reinforcement on the glove

be interested to heard from the GM boys about this in regards to why the d3o isnt on all of the glove and only the index and middle finger.....for pro issue gloves i would use the d30 on the entire back of hand covering rather than just in certain sections
i know its prob due to the cost of the raw material but keeping a pro fit would be my main aim as a sponsor paying them endorsement fee's and a couple of ££ extra on the cost price of the gloves would be worth the investment i would say :D
-
I thought d3o was heavy so therefore if you covered the whole back of the glove it would make the glove very heavy
-
it would but its not going to be a massively significant difference i wouldnt think when taking into account the padding already present....reducing the impact can be the difference between a break and 6 weeks out or brusing which could be a bit of ice and a 2nd innings return

Looks like a pretty light bats he's got there.
-
Im not sure thats reinforcement if im honest looks more like buddy strapping the fingers together to me...
-
Yeh don't think it will do much in terms of protection!
