Well a few of us have decided to enter the indoor league in north yorkshire this season after realising 6months is far too long to wait to pick the bats up again. I keep thinking to myself.... Remember the ball is always live, run at every given oppurtunity and don't forget you can be caught off the Walls! Anyone else got any tips or tricks that may help us dominate this year?? Or do you play in another league with any strange rules. I heard ramblings some leagues have taken the one hand one bounce garden ruling literally. Can't see too many being pleased with that one!!

usually a crap fielder or a gap, hit and run to gaps or crap fielder, or play hard and straight!
-
muller at fielders, so you scare them off :)
-
Shut your eyes and swing from the hip !
-
Haha thanks lads. So.... Pick shaking fielder in the arc.....Eyes closed.... Swing hard... Head down and go right??? You should all take up coaching ;)

Where are you playing your games ProWannabe88?
-
will let you know any tips if we win thursday lol but dont bowl extras is the key played a team other week gave us 80 odd runs in extras make them work for it just hoping to win the league this year as were runners up last year
-
Just run everything. It is amazing how often you get away with it. Just remember to run line that block throwing angles. The soft hands defensive shot is the most useful in indoor.
-
Were at Tadcaster north Yorkshire choppy. Called the Yorkshire indoor cricket school I think. Or it used to be anyway. Yeah I've been through the extras etc with one of the lads. And I'm pretty quick so could go everytime I guess. Played b4 but it was a jnr league and we walked it. I was considering getting the reverse sweep and flick behind stumps out but there's no scoring zones behind the batter apparently.
-
Yes, I've played there thats all as there aren't to many Indoor schools around in Yorkshire. Its qute run down, but does a decent enough job for nets and matches a like. Think Steve Lawrence runs it, as well he has something to do with Rehmani cricket, nice guy.
-
Wait, wait and wait again then slap it into the floor towards the nets.
Bowling wise bowl around the ribs and straight.

Im starting to play indoor cricket for the first time next week and was wondering what equipment you need? Is it just a bat or do you need any protection?
-
Bat & gloves really. Up to you if you wanna wear a box or not. Some of lads I play with wear one and some dont. Great fun indoor cricket though, bloody tiring though. Just ask Simmy about that.
-
Thanks. Really looking forward to playing. Its on once a week until February so it should be good fun

I have really been making the double bouncer work in indoor this year, pitch it about a foot in front of me, not much of a bounce but just slowly goes towards batsman and pitches for the second bounce around yorker length!
-
its grate fun if ur a nice steady away batter like walker!
if your like me and a big hitter u might find it hard!
its hard for me to get the idea of tap and run and i struggle!
to tap and defently to run lol
sadly the short balls etc cant be bowled there is a red line on the floor if the ball bounces before that line the batters get 2 runs
-
ha ha. In league we are playing in you can't bowl bouncers. There is a line just back of a lenght ish that you have to pitch the ball over. Otherwise its called a short ball with a 2 run penalty.
-
Also a master of using the back of the bat so that the ball just runs down to third man for a single every ball :)
-
another problem there leo anything behind square is no runs unless u run lol
-
And you cant be doing that can you simmy. lol. 4/6 or nothing. Hence the 6 runs last week in 6 overs. Lol. Can make up for it next week though mate.
Just noticed I have finally hit the 50 post mark :D.
-
ur 1st 50 this year isnt it????? lol
-
Ha Ha Ha. Yeah it is mate, had to retire on 40 in 20-20.
