Any news on the bags?
-
Awaiting pics mate today which looks like it will be tomorrow now, i have been promised they will be here and delivered for the 1st week of november though!!!
-
Ok thanks. Looking forward to seeing them
-
same here :D
-
looking forward to squeezing all my new gear into 1 :D
Tom have you had the bag designed with a helmet pouch?
i heard rumours that GM and Kookaburra were looking into doing this and thought it may have been right down your street.
-
It has a section for your helmet as well as sections for 2 bats to be stored in full length padded pockets, a pocket for ur boots, pockets for gloves/thigh pads and another pocket for shower gel/etc with one big compartment for your pads and clothes.....designed with use in mind and what kit is carried on a weekend.
Waiting to see the sample though as with most things it may need some tweaking from the 1st sample version when i get to see it.
They are in our elite colour scheme of black, green and silver :D
-
Oooh yes! I do love plenty of pockets!! They should look good in that colour scheme as well mate. Can you put a pocket in mine for my tash trimmer ;)
-
yeh one for a mo comb and a bit of wax to fashion it....will all fit into the toiletries pocket ;)
-
Good stuff. Never thought about mo wax!
-
Always one step ahead of the game mate ;)
-
Obviously! Just bought myself a proper electric trimmer to shape the mo. it's almost time to grow!! Not long now and I'll Be sat in a Bristol local, head to toe in ayrtek gear, having a cold pint and twiddling my maahhoosstash through my ayrtek ACIS elite with titanium grille :D can I have a straw please barman!!!
-
haha may need he helmet if we are heading out with a handlebar mo as a crowd of 4 blokes :D clean shaven as of monday 1st meetings iv got lined up in movember could get me some funny looks lol
-
Haha could also bring you some tidy donations. I've gotta face work, the indoor league and football as well. Going to get some right stick.
-
Did they send you the pics of the bag Tom?
-
Not as yet mate they have said they are on the case tho as with most things they will send them when it's ready but this isn't always on time!!
-
Look forward to seeing them as always
-
Yeah they said tomorrow but in all likelihood it's best to say next week now as i was told I would have pics early this week last Friday ???
-
Bet you must be thinking about getting an automated response machine with all these bag questions ;)
-
All part of the job mate I'm as eager to see them as everyone else which is prob why the manufacturer sent me a polite email back today saying they will be sent asap...had to explain that I have several people awaiting pics hence my constant harassment of him lol
-
Have you got a price range in mind for the bag Tom?
-
Yeh not sure if I'm listing RRP or real life prices yet tho lol
-
Easy dig Tom
-
Yet to be priced as need to see how much shipping is to us as well as the delivery cost via a courier when sending out
-
Heres the moment you have all been watinig for our nearly finished bag....Logos are obviously yet to be printed onto them but you get the idea in regards to it :)

-
Look good mate! like the double bat compartment bit :)
you happy with them?
-
havent actually got my hands on one yuet as these are just pics they sent that iv been awaiting, yeh double bat bit was a good idea i thought even tho not everyone has 2 bats :(
-
Looks very nice two bats are enough for a matchday
-
i take 3 lol sometimes
match bat...sloging bat.. then a bat for playing air ball lol
-
yeh thats what i thought...keep them nice and safe in some padded pockets then free's up some space for the rest of your kit inside the bag.
-
Got all that in my sachin bat :)
-
yeah did see that one yesterday...still awaiting mine ;)
-
Thoughts then Tom?
-
do you know the sizes of tthe bag mate
-
yeah its 85cm long and 40cm wide approx..yeh happy with it but hard to say how happy without actually having one here yet to get everything into ???
-
and price wise ? very intreagued
-
Im yet to work out the postage as its done on volume rather than weight when sending things like this through the post.
Once iv sorted it will let you all know, ball park i would say £60 + P&P TBC
-
Ayrtek it kinda looks like a stand up version of the Xiphos.
-
dont know what that looks like in all honesty or if thats a good thing or not to be comparred too ???
-
The Xiphos bag was IMO the best cricket bag GN made, they stopped making them last year.
So your bag has a lot to live up to!
-
I quite like the bat bit!
How much will you be selling these for?
And any news on the duffle?
-
Im yet to work out the postage as its done on volume rather than weight when sending things like this through the post.
Once iv sorted it will let you all know, ball park i would say £60 + P&P TBC
Awaiting pics of the duffles still
-
Have you anything else lined up to make like thigh pads etc?
-
nothing new can get thigh pads etc ordered up but as iv said before other brands such as aero specialise in these areas and offer products they have spent time, effort and money developing.
-
yeah its 85" long and 40" wide...yeh happy with it but hard to say how happy without actually having one here yet to get everything into ???
bloody hell thats huge!
-
14" it was meant to say i think mate sorry typing on my iphone
-
That looks quality :) lovin the 2 bat pockets
-
yeh something i thought no other brand had cottoned onto in terms of keeping them secure and padded on the outside as creates more space in the main pocket then without having to take all ur kit out to fit it back in...will see if the theory works in practice shortly!
-
Tom will this will be in different colours? Or just the Elite Range colour?
-
Just the elite I think mate as can't justify getting it made up in too many colours unless people created a larger demand
-
was this designed with the bogey green aero bag you have in mind, or completely from scratch, i do like it, ther eis def something about it, will look great branded up!
-
Bogey was kind of frame for it as think the stand up is the way to go to avoid clogging up the changing room!!
Yeh silver logos should finish it off :)
-
Dimensions please tom?
-
It's 86cm x 36cm x 36cm so will obviously got two full length bats in the pockets on the outside whilst having a main central pocket for ur pads, helmet and clothes...the two pockets on the rhs are intended for gloves and thigh pad etc and one for toiletries....front one for ur boots to go in.
-
Will have to confirm accurate sizes once iv got one but those were the basis of the spec provided for it
-
I like it a lot- does it stay stood up when you take stuff out? And does stuff tend to slide to the bottom on these stand up bags?
-
Does the main pocket run the whole length of the bag?
-
thanks tom, my Newbery Uzi stand up doesn't fit in the boot of my corsa. Hopefully, I will be driving to away games next year. (Should I pass in December!). Don't want to use my duffle as I hate having to squeeze it all in.
-
yeh had the same problem with my last ayrtek bag i had as it filled my boot and was too big, this one will fit easily into your boot with enough space for another bag as well or at least a bag of the same size did in my golf.
the main pocket runs the full length of the bag yes so that you can obviously fit your pads into it without squashing them, the pictures are of the bag when its empty and as a stand-up it will remain that way when empty/half full
-
Ok, when will they be available? And do you have a price?
Thanks
-
1st batch are set for arrival in the 1st week of November (although 6 have already been sold)......price will be £60.00 + P&P
If you want to pre-order then your best of emailing in advance so I can up the initial quantity to avoid any pre-xmas order dissapointment. Also with the VAT increase in January due to kick in prices will rise ???
-
Ok, Thanks mate.
-
no offense mate but these bags look terrible - i certainly won't be buying one for that price
-
Fair enough some feedback would be useful as to why do u think its so bad? the price is in line with many other brands bags that are in this range..
-
I dont have any problem with the price. You go buy one of the better brands and it will at least cost you 65-80 pounds and you might not have the same quality or durability of ayrteks bag. Also you would not get the same customer service.
If you make a statement that they look terrible then would you at least back it up and let Tom know what is wrong with it
-
Sorry but i just think it looks more like a suitcase rather than a cricket bag - maybe once the stickers/graphics are added it will be improved.
-
What! Cant believe what I have just read.
These bags look awsome, plenty of pockets for all your gear and the best thing is that it stands up-right in order to maximise changing room space. Space is already at a premium with the size of bags these days.
Roll on the 28th Novemeber when me and a few mates make the jourey to Bristol to pick our Ayrtek gear up.
-
personal choice I guess..
-
Surely the criteria for a good cricket bag (or any good product for that matter) shouldn't be based entirely on it's looks? Like you say Whispering Death, personal choice and all that.
That said I think it looks like a great bag - the stand out for me is the two bat storage compartments. I can see some straps on the side, is it intended that you can use it as both a vertical and a horizontal bag?
-
Yes thats the plan lies flat in the car boot but stands up in the changing room to avoid taking up too much space
-
top idea of you ask me. we will see if it fits my tiny boot though.
if not..... i'll lower the back seats as i have no choice haha
-
should do mate the GF has a clio and fitted my kit bag in no probs before.....no inuendo please!
-
haha damn i was just loading the gun as well.
-
always one step ahead mate... i cud have said it fits easily in her boot and opened the floodgates on the whole affair ;)
-
always one step ahead mate... i cud have said it fits easily in her boot and opened the floodgates on the whole affair ;)
its 85cm long and 40cm wide
OUCH!
-
as long as u can get ur junk in her trunk then its all good
-
as long as u can get ur junk in her trunk then its all good
on a similar vein
the new ayrtek bag takes twice as much wood
:D
-
"Ayrtek takes kit to new heights"
-
To be fair its not a new idea its basically along the same lines as the Aero stand up bags with a twist ? the colour scheme doesn't work for me although until ive seen one up close i can comment on quality as from the pictures I'm guessing this is still in the development stage.
-
yeh still a work in progress in regards to getting a finished product, iv only had pictures so far as well so yet to see a physical sample to make any alterations etc.
-
A little bit of duffle action for you.....logo's still need adding to it obviously as have just photoshopped them on for now:D
(http://i444.photobucket.com/albums/qq167/tom_ayrtek/Dufflewithlogos.jpg)
Price will be £20 + P&P
-
pro photoshop work there tom ;)
-
lol dont know about that mate bit of copy n paste and a bit of skew and we were there!
-
i wouldnt of never known it was a photoshop if it wasnt for email lol
-
should have kept quiet then lol the stand-up should look good with the logo on too when it is finished i think
-
yeh thats what i thought...keep them nice and safe in some padded pockets then free's up some space for the rest of your kit inside the bag.
is this designed to stand upright then? or are the bat pockets on the top as it were
-
no mate its a stand up bag as pictured.....but can be led down as well on the bottom as well where the handle is on it
-
ah ok, was just slightly confused thinking the bag was meant to lay on the bats :s
thanks for clearing that up
-
no mate the bats would remain on the LHS when the bag is led down in the boot of a car for example
-
The moment you have all been waiting for....well ok the moment I have been waiting for :D

-
looking good tom
are the stand up bags £60?
-
yes mate
-
they have just over a week to come mate!
-
indeed delivery usually takes 3/4 days so they are cutting it fine.... have given them a firm boot up the (No Swearing Please) tho to get things moving!!!
-
as long as lids are done thats main thing
-
You and Liam sure are loaded!! :D Having said that, I can't really talk...
-
Johan we are both probably two of the lowest paid guys on this forum. We just like our cricket gear that's all.
-
Oh maybe I got the wrong impression- let me correct that then: you are some of the buggest spenders on the forum...
-
It won't always be like this.... No wait it probably will. If i had a job that paid 20k+ id have a home full of gear and I'd be a very happy chappy
-
It won't always be like this.... No wait it probably will. If i had a job that paid 20k+ id have a home full of gear and I'd be a very happy chappy
amen! to that
i used to sink crazy money into my car now ive done enough to the a4 so spend it on cricket stuff.

-
Well I hope so no good making everything for the feather weights like sam lol
-

-
Aiming to be up and running by start of January mate so depends how quickly things move
-
When will the website be updated?
-
Shortly once the bags arrive so we have all the products to photograph...will also be 3d rotational pics of all the products so u can spin the views of the bags/gloves/pads and bats in the same manner u can with the helmets currently :)
-
Jesus i dont even comment in a topic and i get bullied!!
My growth spurt has stopped :( and its 2lb 4.2 actually :D! You wait tom til i become huge and bully you!
*off topic* seen fixtures tom? we got you first game at your palce, shame i am not around!!

-
Update on the bags/hoodies situation....they were collected a week ago but have been held up in customs since...hoping for their release soon so that we can get our hands of them!
-
Every company's gear is held up in customs at the moment!
-
Wahoo apparently customs have now very kindly processed and cleared the parcels!!! :D
-
YES! final spend of the year (I hope)
-
May have to treat myself for xmas :D. Would you be able to fit a bat inside the bag as well as the outside pockets.
-
Lovely jubbly, I can put my gear away now :)
-
Yeah know that feeling....if you want one I would act fast as the majority of them have been pre sold die to popular demand.
Should ne able to fit an bat inside it as well if you feel the need to carry 3 bats to a game. Also have duffle bags on route :)
-
I'm now a 3 bat man
-
And me altho has been known to be more on occasions dunno why not that i can use them all in the middle.
-
1 middling bat, 1 net bat, 1 match bat.
Winner winner.
-
Ill let you know about the bag 2mo, but pretty sure ill have one, just need to tell those concerned they can get it me for xmas lol :D
-
No probs will have to work out how many are left over as got a list of orders to fulfil from those who have waited patiently for their arrival.
Got a limited number as a first batch so will have to do them on a first come first served basis.
-
Tom, what are these hoodies of which you speak? I may be interested in purchasing one!
-
Link is here. Ordered a black one
http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=6527.45

-
Season starts in April but getting grief now off wife for kit being on the floor but luckily have just blamed Tom ha
-
Yeah I have that problem with scattered gear. Ah well I'll just blame Tom as well.
-
i just lobbed all mine in back of car cos fed up of getting grief of eveyrboyd just keep the bats inside cos i dont want them picking up more moister
-
Cheers lads going to be the scape goat of all ur untidyness lol i get away with it as all my kit is out at parents house bundled into one room! helps that there are bats, pads, gloves helmets etc all over the place to mask it
-
It won't change when the bags arrive. Our lass will just say 'can't you shift this massive bag'
-
lol at least its just one object to move rather than 10 smaller ones!
-
Too true mate
-
at least u have sumwhere to store it not much space in the flat as u saw lol apart from on the balcony!!
-
Put it behind the door :) I'm
Sure no1 will notice
-
haha yeah good thinking!
once the bag arrive at least the full range will be complete and can get on with sorting out the website then :)
-
Yeah that's it lad, look attar positives. Worry about storage later. It'll be going out as quick as it comes in anyway so I don't know why your moaning haha
-

-
Sorry, being lazy What colours and how much?
-
nor me...i left a signed note out today asking them to leave them in the shed but they said they needed a digital signature so heading over to collect them tomorrow afternoon now as got BT phoneline going in at the office between 8am-1pm!
they are black, green and silver and are £60 + P&P...pics earlier on in the topic
-
im starting to wonder if these bags actually exist lol
-
so was I....held hostage by customs for a week after a prolonged production period the epic journey they have been through is nearly finished.....until they are once again sent out into the wild to the patiently awaiting customers!
-
Lets hope BT turn up at 8 then but i very much doubt it!
-
haha yeah iv asked BT to ring before they plan on getting there as dont fancy waiting for 5 hours in an empty office with nothing to do!
DHL depot is only 20 mins away anyway so will grab them in the afternoon anyway.
-
I'm sure theyre worth the wait :)
-
YIPPEE, WAHOO, ARRIIBA!!
-
Hurray :D
From the quality of all the other Ayrtek gear im sure these will be no different and well worth the wait.
-
Fingers crossed...will wait until iv got my mitts on them to pass judgement ;)
-
Out of interest tom, where were they made, as you mentioned their journey through customs.
-
I am presuming they would of been sourced from india, as the cost would of been better than getting them made within the eu.
-
Could well be true, have they got space for batting and keeping kit?
-
If Customs don't know you, you're screwed. It'll get easier Tom.
-
The hoodies will be here as well so happy days all round :) new bag hoodie and a resprayed custom helmet life is good
-
Do you have them in the flesh yet?
-
they are here....i have touched them!!! ill upload a few snaps now for you...been a busy day and only just sat back down at the PC
-
OMG do they feel like.... Bags :)
I hope you weren't taking advantage of mine Tom, it'll tell me everything on arrival. If you have molested my poor bag I don't think I would ever forgive you
-
will kick things off with the duffle bag...has a pocked for ur boots as well as a couple of pockets on the front for your odd n sods. You can also shrink the bottom pocket down in size by zipping it around if u dont want it too big.
I managed to fit the below in without any issues to give you some idea of size....
-
liam.....i put things inside ur bag!
-
:o it wasn't a hoody was it? If you put any gear in just leave it in by accident. I'm sure I won't mind mate haha
-
Onto the stand-up...it has a separate section accessed through the U-zip at the top for your helmet, gloves or clothing/boots/towel etc if u dont carry a helmet perhaps.
The main body of the bag where your pads etc all go is accessed via the grey area so that you dont have to delve to the bottom of the bag when its stood up to find anything. The two side pockets for the bats easily fit a generous profiled bat into them as i slotted in a 35mm edge just to try it. Even with it still inside its normal full length bat cover it fitted without any problems.
The two side pockets are pretty big and can fit gloves/box etc in them and the top one toilletries etc.
For those asking if it will fit your WK kit in as well as batting clobber i fitted all of the below in with room to spare and also didnt use the 2 side pockets.

tom
-
I dont mind waiting, save on postage :D. Im sure it wont be long about.
-
Cool they may even turn up on monday/tuesday but its just for those wanting them pre-xmas that can be catered for if needs be as cutting it a bit fine sending stuff on tuesday as im sure the snow will be usedas an excuse for couriers not getting stuff delivered!

-
Tom, are these in stock yet? I remember you saying you were waiting on delivery?
-
they will be back in stock at the end of the month with any luck as we have improved the design a little from the 1st batch as well.
-
rubber wheels?
-
Remote control mate :)
-
lol only thing i dont like about my bag is the wheels are so noisey it sounds like a lawn mower lol
-
Simmy stop putting me off...
Saying that I would be a getting a new model!!
-
Dont let him put you off these northerners are big girls blouses always moaning lol
-
Tell me about it mate. Always something aint it
-
lol only thing i dont like about my bag is the wheels are so noisey it sounds like a lawn mower lol
I have to agree mate.
-
Wheels have been updated after simmy gave me some feedback, will be 3 wheels on the revised batch and a grab handle on the top as well as trolley handle :)
-
Are they rubberised?
-
Not sure mate haven't had time to pin down details as been maaaanic
-
If you could do rubber wheels then I think they would be better.
-
Tom, you should put the dimensions of the bag on the website. I'm guessing it's about 100cm x 40cm x 40cm, but people are interested in this kind of info.
-
cheers Tim will do once the new batch turn up as made a few amendments to the original design
-
Rubber wheels? :L
-
Wouldn't it be great if Ayrtek made a bag that was about 85 cm long and about 35 cm square with rubber wheels and a retractable metal handle! ;)
-
improved materials and wheels plus an extra one to boot.....triple wheeler!!
-
sounds like a tricky design tim! not sure we could handle it :D
-
None of this newfngled extra pockets thingy! Just a nice reasonable size and a proper towing handle....
Though if you wanted to add pockets, I wouldn't complain...
-
Few snaps of the modified/improved bags...we have changed the bag materials to make them more durable as well as adding a grab handle to the front of it and an additional wheel to the base for ease of use. Green is also closer to what we use on the pads and gloves (of which we now have plenty of youths and mens in stock of the Elite range).

thanks to those who field tested our first ones and made recommendation for improving it further :)
-

-
Grab handle was what sold me on this mate, only thing missing off the last batch.
Can't wait to get mine now :) No tippex please
-

-

Big bags!
-
They look chuffing smart. Would someone kindly inform me of the price, I don't feel like trawling the previous pages.
-
The size is to the top of the handle mate in length nag size is a bit smaller....price is £64.99
-
Ill swap my old version for the new version ;) :D
-
So Tom what is exactly different from the old ones?
-
1. Upgraded materials/zips/wheels
2. Triple wheeled
3. Grab handle
-
Are the wheels same as before? Just an extra one
-
Improved mate, haven't actually got any of the others to compare them too as they didn't hang around long!!
Look different to me tho :)
-
Ok mate, well they look very good... Again, I'm sure they will be top notch this time :)
-
I know the materials was a concern on Tom's and Stevie's bags and I kept shouting at the zips for not zipping as well as plastic wheels lasting as long as I do on a Saturday :L
Aslo on a slightly different note, when we next meet and exchange equipment, could I pass on Gareth's bat?
-
Yes mate what's it need a new handle ?
Yeah the newer ones are much better ;) bit of a learning curve getting any product perfected....slim chances of getting it right 1st time lol
-
Yep, 1699 runs has taken it's toll.
Tbf this is probably the first thing you have got 'wrong' as the rest of the gear has gone down well first time.
-
Yeh the design is sound in principle but ur relying on ur supplier to select the materials for u unless u go out and do it urself....very rarely does it go 100% to plan!! Lol
Was good to get some feedback on the samples though which always helps prove things.
-
Hopefully they're sorted now though, mine's in my garage with stuff spewing out of it, need to organise it for Globe tomorrow. We're having a net from 9-10 if you wanna pop down.
Mine is still in pretty good condition though, just the wheels are knackered.

but you've got the hard bit right Tom with an outstanding design.
-
Thanks, glad people approve. Think the 2 bat pockets really help as they are well padded and free up space elsewhere for the rest of ur kit
-
Are there separate compartments for whites/training gear, and cricket equipment?Or is it an allinone job?
-
the top pocket is separate to the main pocket...iv got all my clothing and lid stored in the top section
two side pockets im using top one for toiletries/bat tape etc and bottom one for balls, gloves, box etc if im being honest id have liked a separate section for ur boots but if uv got a boot bag like i have they fit into the main compartment with ease.
-
sounds really good mate.may well invest just before season. Bought the new merlin duffle, which is a bit like a golf bag, holds all my kit (at a squeeze), and doesnt really stand up on its own. Apart from that it's top draw! :(
-
yeh there seems to be a gap in the market for a bag that has everything feature wise to it. :)
-
(http://i745.photobucket.com/albums/xx98/johnnyw18/Image012.jpg)
Decided to modify my duffle bag today and added a padded bat cover to it....
-
good innovating mate! hope all the kit goes well for u
-
I was struggling to get the bat in the bag with all the gear so I stitched it on in a couple of places and it worked out alot better than I thought. Will give all the gear a good testing tomorrow at nets.
