Title: Knocking in

I'm currently knocking my new Impala Redback 3000 with a mallet (a ball one) and cherries seem to come up with it. When I went to the nets with an old ball no marks came up. I will have to face the new ball soon so what should I do?

Mate i suggest making sure there are no deep seam marks. Cheeries don't really matter as it depends on the actual ball. If your getting deep ones from the mallet keep knocking it in. Maybe keep using an older bat against a new ball for a bit until. But i can see your cause for concern with new bats. Ive got one thats a few years old and i still get abit paranoid about it.

Try using your nail and pressing softly on the face, if you leave a slight mark, it isn't knocked in yet.

Id keep the cherries mate. For the intimidation factor. Its scares kids
