There are so many types of bat handles about so what suits you best and whats your favoutite?
As I live in Spain I dont have a chance to pick up and choose bats so just buy based on oval or semi oval but never round handle. All 5 of my bats have different types of handles than this is really annoying.Im sure others must have the same problem?
-
i'm happy with a round handle, but it has to be a GM shock absorba grip on it
-
Massive fan of fat oval handles. Sooooo much better for me.
-
I have a huge profile AS V3 with a slim oval handle which makes the bat seem even bigger....which does help me psycologically.
-
My bottom hand grip feels more natural with a oval handle, if that makes sense
-
I can testify the cats oval handle is huge, my hands were just big enough to grip it
I refer Round, or semi oval
-
I prefer a thick handle with a small oval bottom, always have to put a thin grip on with a thick ribbed grip on top otherwise it doesnt feel right!
-
Don't care really. Have a GN with a round handle, and a Hunts County with oval at the bottom, round at the top! Prefer my Hunts County because of the fact that it's both, that's all haha.
-
What constitutes a good handle and which brand makes the best handle?
Surely the type of handle has to be according to the bat profile and weight?
-
I have an oval on a Slazenger here and round handle on my Ayrtek. Prefer the Slaz's handle but get on with the Ayrtek ok
-
thin oval handle, 1 decent grip, cut the top off and turn it into a supershort.
-
Oval handle def, have 2 bats (main match bat) with round handles, didn't get on with them, but just fiddled about with rolls and rolls of tape until i got the right shape similar to oval
-
Oval handle, two chevrons.
-
Oval Handle with 2 grips :D
-
I much prefer a thick oval handle. Then for a grip I am currently using double thickness matrix with half a grip padding out the bottom hand further. Having said that I am constantly trying different grips and combinations.
I would say that there is more to a handle than the shape and grip - there are the number of canes, the rubber inserts and the relative stiffness of the handle. There are a few threads on this on the forum somewhere - but this isn't something I know a great deal about.

i havent really settled on anything, however i liked the grip(s) on the vixen i had but dont know what they were now :S, would love to know (hint craig! ;) )
-
Whatever my talisman one is slightly oval I think
-
Oval, but i put an extra half a grip on the bottom half

I do find that there are certainly good and average handles irrespective of the shape and size.
I have found that Warsop make excellent handles but unfortunately my Warsop bat weight is too light. Also my Laver handle is the absolutely perfect size and lovely to grip but I cant get along with the carbon handle. This really pissed me of as the Laver is quite an incredible blade and would have to be sold just like the Warsop. Also have a Baronet which has the thickest and most oval handle imaginable which I cant use.Another desperately unlucky buy for me!

love an oval handal my self...
my last few bats the handles have been so small and thin..
-
Warsop handles are top notch and as is the one on my Talisman. Although the warsop felt a lot bulkier but was probably the better size.
On the subject of handles, you don't see too many handles with 2 springs, apart from Mr Millichamps bats. Is this a preference thing or is just simply down to costs of handles??
-
Preference as handle's don't cost that much, at least i don't think they do

Around £7.50 I think for a handle

I think Slazenger bats have best shaped oval handle and are most comfortable to grip. Other brands like GM & GN handle shapes vary 2 much. I use to play with lot of Pakistani bats but didn't like the shape of a single handle, although the quality of Pak bat handles was good but shapes weren't good. Handles were always 2 thin at the bottom and really thick at the top. I stopped using Pak bats because of the handle issues and now use mostly Indian and some English bats.

i realy have only used hunts that have had oval handles but atm searching for another bat wich will probably be a lekka or saf but could revert to a hunts again but im undecided atm

Warsop handles feel amazing, love holding warsop bats
