HI ,
I have oftern heard it said on here that people like the grain structure or willow structure of a bat.
I know the various different theories on the number of grains, but what are the theories around different looks of willow and grains versus longeivity and performance.
Also i guess density is only calculated by area divided by weight and not by Norbs tappng a bat with his finger.
any qualified help appreciated

i dont really know..
i allways thought the amount of grains etc was just down to preferance..
am sure a 10 grain bat performes just as well as one with 25 grains..
however i dont like bats that have less than about 7 grains it just reminds of them cheap bats that have 3-4 big wide grains.
i like my bats to have around 10 straight grains and no heartwood

I prefer to get a bat that has 8-11 grains, I feel at first it may not be as responsive but once it is worn in, I find it a superiour rebound and also lasts longer

What i am talking abou tis the grain Structure/look/make up
and also what indications in the look of the willow will give youa s to how the bat will perform.
What signs will a batmaker look for to tell them that one piece of 9 grained wood will perfom better than another.

Its "Tap"...

i dont think you can really. . .it comes down to the pressing and density
thats where u find the diference. . .the performance come from the pressing...am i right norbs??
