Title: Travisher/Convex Spokeshave
Post by: Washington on October 30, 2010, 04:54:16 PM: A question for bat makers really, would a convex spokeshave do the same job as a travisher in concaving a bat??

Some spokeshaves say convex but that means the sole is radiused front to back to shape tight curves but it will not cut in the same way as a travisher and may not yield the same results.

A "clifton convex spokeshave" is like a travisher but a "stanley convexed sole spokeshave" is not.

Ebay is always good and someone on here will probably have one going spare for you.

A spoon shave/carving spoon? not sure what the name is but I have one and it's aggressive but useful.

In that case does anyone have one for sale?

I thought you may have a stash. I have a cleft and drawknife sorted so looking for the extras to create a belter.

Guys, is the No.6 any good at all? I can't find a No.4 or 5 on the bay...
