As another Monday challenging question for you - it has, in Cricket and Golf, become common place/fashionable to wear a longsleeved baselayer, a short sleeve shirt and a vest jumper. I have myself, on occaision, sported this look, as demonstrated by MPV, below.

My question is, does anyone else think this look stupid? Regardless of wheather baselayers are good or not, I am not a big fan of this look and feel it is back to front!!! :o
What do you guys think?
I appreciate that this is a bat forum, rather than a place to discuss fashion "statements"!

Not being particularly bothered by fashion either I agree with you Buzz that it looks inside out and a tad daft. Maybe it is an age thing and the nippers on the forum will disagree with us!
On the other hand I didn't like the adidas england clothing when it first came out as am a fan of a traditional sweater but it has grown on me and now I think looks pretty good.
So maybe I am being dragged into the noughties, who knows!

This look suits Vaughan.

I too not being particularly bothered about fashion in sport and so tend to wear one underneath. I think its looks naff in golf and cricket, (footballers can get away with it i feel) as the under shirt doesnt usually match the shirt etc! However i feel its a much better option than a long sleeve shirt or pullover, allowing more flexibility and the same amount of warmth, so I wear it for practical reasons!
The australians t20 shirt from other night with the baselayer sleeves looks very very naff!!

Here he is again... photo had to be cropped due to a couple of reprobates standing next to the great man...

In golf, i find a long sleeve jumper more comfortable. In cricket I have a long sleeve (canterbury number) and short sleeve (woolie) jumper so wear them. Then again I do try to sit a slip and avoid running!!

Might be different for Vaughan as he is a front face for the brand he wears.

Do you have any pictures of him in tears ?

not with his "skins" on...

I'd have to say that the warm baselayer approach in the early UK season is an absolute godsend. Many's the time I've stood shivering in the outfield late April with about 15 layers on...
Just a pity that you still can't wear gloves.

i never wear anything other than my match shirt no jumpers or nothing and im never cold. but then again ive got plently of blubba and im the keeper so im allways moving so never really get cold

I agree it does look a bit silly... but i always wear a long sleeve skins when fielding as i like the compact feeling of wearing a skins and also i find i dont graze my arms so much when diving around in the field

we had a charity game last year , and i sported this look with a pink base layer , imagine the sledging if i did that in a real game !
-
i gave a bloke loads of stick when he came out to bat with a black skins on last season let alone a pink one, although if it matched your bat it might look ok lol
