Title: Aus - SL
Post by: Tumo on November 03, 2010, 10:31:44 AM
Is anybody watching this? Malinga and Mathews going wild! Angelo Mathews has just waltzed down the track to Siddle and smashed his 91mph delivery straight back over his head! Amazing effort!

johnnyw - shame the rest of your bowlers have bottled it completely! Peter Siddle has lost it!

I think all the bowlers have lost it. Smith seriously is not a international spinner

I'm not sure I rate him as an international cricketer to be honest! Been watching the scene for a while, Doherty's deserved his go in the shorter form, he needs a good FC season as well though!

OMG! I looked at the card at 80 odd for 6 and then they chase 239. I'll be watching the highlights.

Fairly average bowling towards the end from Aus. Clarke hasnt done much to enhance his captaincy credentials in this game, looked like he had run out of ideas towards the end

to be fair, it is a nightmare as a captain when you have a tail ender who has got his eye in and it is his day. I have seen this happen so often - this is when the inexperienced nature of the bowling attack really suffers as they lose control of their length and get smashed around the park.

Always great to see the Aussies snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!!

Aussies have lost their aura big time, most teams are confident of beating them now or running them close. Cant believe that Matthews is only 22years old. Someone said on commentary that the Aussies have lost their last 9 ODIs if I heard correctly, thats pretty incredible if true.

Very strange team selection from Australia. They usually have 3 fast bowlers, but they went with Siddle and Johnson. Johnson was forced to bowl with the new nut, even though Punter 9/10 times has him 1st change. Hastings and Watson as the back up seamers, both very similar.

I wouldn't blame Siddle, he's been out for 9 months so probably rusty in the death overs Johnson was woeful and must be a concern.

Has to be remembered that Oz where missing Tait, Harris and Bollinger. Harris was awesome last year and Tait was devastating vs England.

Clarke is a rubbish captain.

Must be wrong, they won the last 2 vs England, lost 1 vs India and now 1 vs SL.

New record for the highest ninth wicket partnership. Pretty nerve racking but enjoyable at the same time to watch as a SL supporter.

Mali has been batting well lately!

according to wisden - http://wisdencricketer.com/blogs/blog/2010/11/03/lawrence-booth-sri-lanka-defeat-part-of-a-worrying-trend-for-australia/ (http://wisdencricketer.com/blogs/blog/2010/11/03/lawrence-booth-sri-lanka-defeat-part-of-a-worrying-trend-for-australia/)

the 9 games is made up of their last 3 tests, last 4 T20's and and last 2 ODI's, which i think is their last 9 competitive international games isnt it?

Really should have just walked up and taken them off. Throwing was always high risk even for a pro.  He would have been 100% out had he knocked the bails off, not so with the throw.

Well it made me chuckle anyways

In fairness to Watson, haddin was trying to throw it to him so he was in the right place. Clarke should at least thrown it to him to break the bails
