Bored to death in work and got to wondering if a model of bat has been ever present since the birth of a brand? Obvioulsy newer companies will have but those who have been going 10 - 20 years eg Gray Nics, Kookaburra, GM etc?
The only one that i can think of is the Preastantia? Not sure if its been ever present or how old the company is!!

Superbest for Fusion must have been going for a while? Unless they wern't called that in the first place?

Started 1990, Praestantia came in around...98-99 at a guess. Yes, I'm sad.
-
not sure on any of these but theres the bat thats big in every brand
Fernly magnum
Newbery Mjolnir
Kook kahunna
Magnums surely been around a while
-
Gunn&Moore seem to periodically re-release the Cannon, but that's still not an ever-present.
Newbery Series 1?
-
Slazenger V Series?

Slazenger V Series?
Technically not a model :)
-
More a range I know, dont think there are many out there apart from the newer brands. Such as McLean.
-
Newbery Series 1?
Don't think they sell this model anymore, mjolnir's been around a good while but was introduced after the series 1 i seem to remember.
-
M&H Original, since 1992 I think...
-
Good shout that.
-
M&H started out in 1987 i think . . . .
-
Kook didn't do the Kahuna till the noughties. Don't remember seeing it in the 90s.
-
no kook was ridgebacks and bubbles back then...kahuna was newer. M&H is a good shout with their S6 which used to be cork filed rather than wood i think ??? must go back to early 90's id say and my junior cricketing days when my newbery lightweight was in action :D
-
S6 was a Signature. Original was early nineties.
Mjolnir has been ever present since 1990.
-
signature that was it...couldnt remember as was only 8/9 at the time i think

Yep, and the Gold Crown, their 'traditional' bat of the time. That one may date further back.

I had a brand new Kookaburra Ridgeback delivered today, bought circa 1988 and stored ever since in a loft, my first senior bat but a dud, however one for the wall. Also a Centurion if anyone remembers them.
-
Hasn't the Laver and Wood Signature been being made since the start of the Laver brand?

Ah - you were the other bidder on that one on ebay!

Still got an almost new Ridgeback limited edition (300 per year) here. Shame I got it soon before I gave up playing as it was rather good. It would be popular with the straight even grain freaks.
-
I cannot remember who used it but I wanted it before I even got to the shop....
I think we bid against ourselves a lot on ebay.... but I won so I'm happy.
-
The kookaburra ridgeback was the first new bat i ever brought . . .I wanted it as Graham Thorpe used one . . . didn't like it that much . . .didn't last long . . . neither did my fascination with Chalky :)

My bro had a ridgeback and it was a plank... ridgeback 2000 i believe
i played against a guy using a brand new centurion last season, looked a pretty good stick, are/were they based in southend?
-
I think they were, they were another brand with masses of ranges and models.
-
they must be still knocking about as i saw a brand new one this season.... looked and sounded pretty decent
-
I'll have to look for them and would like to refurbish it and fit new labels.
-
I'l steal the one of that lad for you when i play against him next season he was a right petulant little sh't

You got a Centurion? I had a couple of those and loved them - and the stickers.
I thought they were Symonds bats re-stickered.
Briefly endorsed by Curtley, Courtney and Malcolm Devon.
Now that was a brand!
