Blue Room 'New Wave'
After deciding i required a new bat, i had a look around on the net and gave Robert Pack a bell. Had about a 15 minute chat to him about what i was looking for, required etc... Mulled things over, visited my local cricket shop, decided what the hell. Decided to go with a blueroom bat. RP asked if i could visit so he could customise the bat to me. Decided not to as it was a 2hr+ trip there.
Heres what i asked for:
Grade A
Bat finished weight between 2-8 and 2-10
Lowish middle
Nice sized edges
White octupus grip
Face protector sheet
Lightish pick up - good balance
Knocked in -Match Ready

When the bat was ready they belled me, paid and was very happy with this the bat. It turned up a week after ordering.
Manage to get 3 games in before the season ended. a 1, a GD and a 53 not out. The bat has an excellent middle, not massive but when you get it right it flies and you dont feel a thing

Nice looking bat will be good to find out how well it is going after a half a seasons use!!
-
Fingers crossed it will do, only I've got another bat that should go well. Must add as well I did phone up millichamp and hall to see what they had in stock. Was looking at a solution or distinction. Told them some prices I had seen on line but they were not prepared to match so I went with the blue room. Funny enough the other new bat is a m&h!
-
I like the look of the bat, it looks a belter. If you don`t mind me asking what sort of cost was it? I`m still searching around for another bat for next season and nets start very soon, so will certainly give them a ring.
-
Prices as the website, £180 + £20 to knock in so £200 delivered.
-
Thanks for that, you`re obviously impressed with it. I`ll add it to my ever-growing list of possibles. To be honest I`m looking for two more bats to add to my collection for next season!!
-
That's got some serious concaving, chunky looking as well.
-
haha got home and saw this. must say im not keen on the stickers (told robert this aswell but he was fine with it)
really looking forward to going down, the bat looks nice mate, i would have liked a few more grains but thats just me 8) looks nicely bowed as well.
-
looks very similar to the Flintoff bat ive seen
-
Would that be Le hosks?? That thong looks special
-
yeah i had a feel of it a few weeks ago massive concaving, very light pickup for its size
-
Looks a great stick: I hope it goes well for you!! Seeing so many nice bats around ATM! :D
-
The bats are graded on performance not looks so you may be restricted on how many grains you will get. As for the stickers they do look pretty good on the bat. Much better than how they look on his website. I'll try and get some picks up of the m&h tomorrow, grains look almost identical.

Who is Robert Pack or is this a school boy error?!?!
-
Refurbs and finshes the high-end bats for puma and makes his own range, called Blueroom..
-
cheers dude!!
-
Robert Pack finishes some of the Puma bats for the Pro players.
And it does remind me of the Flintoff bat. Concaving with a featherlight pickup.
An unusual choice for a bat on the forum, but any bat that goes well for you is a good choice! 8)

oi leave us school boys alone! tis called a rookie mistake :D
-
From the pictures the shape looks very similiar to chase finback bats.
-
might be getting one of these at weekend
but i like bats that have a big middle
"The bat has an excellent middle, not massive but when you get it right it flies and you dont feel a thing"
as my lekka and solitaire have set the bench mark ill be expecting something better for me to part with the money
-
Simmy, You may be surprised how good the bats are. Hitting the bat with a mallet is good all over, but the middle is excellent. Trust trying to give an honest opinion. We all rate and grade our bats different. Everbody seems to buy a bat off this forum and they perform like no other, with comments like ping is out of this word and etc... Then a few weeks later there up for sale. Best bet is to take your lekka and solitaire and compare. I'm sure Mr Pack would like to see what he's up against. The 2 bats you have are cracking value so £180-200 for one of his top grade bats may not be worth it to u. Or if it is you'll be getting another bo!!ocking from the mrs!

Glad I'm not the only one that had noticed this phenomenon. I've got a few to use in nets and in matches before they're going up for sale I think. Then if/when I sell them, they at least have a proper review!

Defently mate...
i think some times tho it is not down to the bat maker it is done to the quality of the wood. hence some bats are not good and others are amazing from the same guy.
yeah just emailing rob now he has asked us to take are current bats down so he can see :)
and your right about people raving about there bats then putting them up for sale..
my solitaire is a very very good bat and i wouldnt sell it for anything!
however like some people i know get bats and think there amazing and when i see them use it i dont think there good at all. people have diffrent opions about bats.
-
Yeah, but you have at least used them before deciding they don't suit you!

why I prefer to buy on performance rather than looks...

ture but when buying over the internet you cant really buy on performance because u dont know.
people like peplow tho tell you the honest truth! he told me that this number 4 lekka was very nice and had good ping and i got it and he was true to his word it is a very nice bat :)

agree, so you buy on performance. peps had a lot of bats for sale to give an opinion on. Quite a few companies sell on looks/cosmetics. Think Tom said the Mongoose bats are sold on looks/cosmetics.
-
most bands are graded on looks yes...
so you could get a g3 bat that looks awfull but performes just as good :)
