My father is 67 (I think) and has not only decided to buy a new Fearnley Bat but also wants a pair of pads for xmas. Since it's more about kid spending (xmas that is),we don't tend to spend much on each other but I wondered what people recommended for around the £30 mark. He's got short legs, so Youth would be fine.
He'd also like to try them on first, so something he can go to a shop and ask for. Any thoughts?

no suggestions for youth pads?
-
Have you tried cricketsupplies? They usually have good youth size stuff

I think its fantastic that your Dad is buying a set of pads at 67.
I bloody hope that im doing the same thing when im his age!

I dragged him out of retirement about 7 years ago to play 3rd team and he scored 400+ runs @ 40 odd. Umpires mainly nowadays but like a lot of old fellas has the technique to stay in and nudge it around when he does play. I think he's running an over 40's team next season on sundays, so hence the interest in new cricket gear!

My old mans still playing just turned 73, dont think he will ever stop. usually ends up with my cast offs.

That kid must have still been a glint in his father's eye when the old boy's GM bat was new.
