Title: selecting the right cleft
Post by: Simmy on November 13, 2010, 08:35:33 PM
wha does everyone look for in a cleft when they have had the chance to choose it?
starting weight?
grains etc
responsiveness?

When I chose mine yesturday. Tony told me which of the cleft would make a decent sized 2.10-11 bat. Then I simply went on responsiveness. Didn't take much notice about the looks, only thing I didn't want is heartwood on the inside edge... Just a personal preference

WHat is the benefit/hinderance of heartwood? I've never known..I guess I'd go on responsiveness and what would make a good sized bat at my desired weight
