Chaps
In the process of setting up an office complete with space for a showroom/shop (by appointment only) for people to come and visit us in sunny Bristol.
Question to put to you all in any suggestions for a showroom area you would like to see?
let us know and we will take them on board for consideration
-
Just keep it simple. Have samples of all your products for customers to try on and see how they feel. Have a selection of bats in different weights and grades so customers can pick them up and see what the pick up is like etc.
-
Ow about investing in albion/masuri lids and having a comparison with yours..?
-
Don't need to as still have the ones we put through bsi testing...aim to have full range of products we offer on display
-
Even better then!!

How much would you be selling these for???
-
Selling what for?
-
Masuri and Albions that were bsi tested reds? When he sells better helmets..
-
Won't be selling them as they are smashed up and full of dents etc jus kept them out of interest and for comparism purposes
-
Have a selection if bats, I know this ain't your main product but there is nothing quite like having a pick up of several bats and comparing them. Good luck with it and I hope you get lots of air time during the winter cricket.
-
I think the showroom should have giant digital prints of your products lining the walls. Huge posters of players suspended from the ceiling, and giant banners on the walls outside.
You should drive a fully wrapped vehicle and the building should have an expensive lit sign above the door.
-
Sounds good to me mate...feel free to email me a price/quote for such fixtures and fittings ;)
-
Would like to see your products plus free coffee and cake!!!
-
Do a catalog of possible helmet designs, including what customisable options are available
-
Where in Bristol is the showroom Tom? If you have spare space you could use YM's bowling machine ;)
-
Bridlington mate, not enough space for a cricket net tho unfortunately I wouldn't think!
-
I have no idea where that is.................Google Maps........
-
Stock custom made bats by smaller manufacturers such as SAF, Redback, Warsop, Talisman, Laver and Wood, Screaming Cat and Impala etc. As we can goto most cricket shops and try the main brands etc but it would be nice to goto a store/Shop that stocks the unique and probably best cricket products on the market.
-
Get a 2nd shape bat.......
-
bridlington or brislington? is this the iphone typing thomas?
-
Was gonna say, up near Hull is a bit far for me.
-
Yes mate never try to type whilst in a moving car!!!
-
That's not so far.
-
I like the idea from keysersolze its a great idea! I think the most important factor with a showroom shop is the feel/atmosphere! Nothing worse than going into a shop and your every move is scrutinized! Us cricketers are a special breed as we like 2 pick things up swing them about, smell them, try them on and even make the sound effect as we shadow a few shots! The best shop ive ever been 2 was romida in rochdale the front of shop was very neat and tidy but tidy also have 2 small warehouse at the back with a mass of kit so you can spend hours trying things out and they wont bother you until you ask for help!
-
Yeah it's a top idea. I personally don't like VKS as there's one guy there who I always encounter who's a bit too pushy: tries to help me out a bit more than I'd like really..much prefer colts cricket in barnes and also Fordham sports next door..
Though I'm sure you could sort some deals our with other brands tom?
-
Globe will hate you more now Tom ;)
-
WEll the feeling I got it was more a showroom to let people try on lids etc with purchase of all goods if wanted? Not sort of a general store. As much as I'd love a store.like that near by! Not sure its the main aim of the exercise!
-
If its all set up before Xmas I might come down specially! :)
-
Yeh the office is the main aim with a showroom area for all of OUR kit not to stock and sell everyone elses as this would be more like a retail outlet where we would be promoting other brands as well as our own!
I appreciate other brands may not have retail outlets in the Uk but would need an incentive to stock their kit when paying our own overheads for the office space
-
Sounds good mate.
-
Well hope so had a fair few emails over the last 2 years from people asking if they can visit and try on the helmets so this should solve the problem as well as allowing them to view all the rest of our wonderful kit :D
-
I take it if something tickles their fancy they can buy one there and then?
-
All depends what it is mate as obviously pads and gloves come as you see them...bats and helmets can obviously be altered to suit ;)
-
I think a second shape bat would be a useful introduction. (Discussed Friday night with Ben and Stevie) Traditional shape was thought of being a success.
-
Tom
Good luck with the office/showroom, i am sure you will get loads of people coming and trying the kit.
we are going through the same phase, setting up showroom for both equipment and customised club clothing(hoping to be ready just after Christmas)
when are you hoping to have the office/showroom ready?
Regards
Asad

Tommy, send me some decent artwork of one of your products, and I'll knock you up a couple of mini samples to get your juices flowing!
-
Brucey will ping something over shortly once my hangover is slightly less intense!
-
Ayrtek HQ is slowly taking shape for a fresh start in the new office for 2011

-
Ikea? ;)
-
no mate thats all the shelving/tables etc downstairs office stuff is different :D still a bit plain at the moment as got to sort out all posters, marketing and display stuff out over then next few weeks to make it a bit more homely....plus IT stuff
-
Not the sort of posters I'm thinking of I bet. Wanna get a calendar mate and ring all of the dates your players are playing lol.
Looks promising :)
-
haha havent narrowed down exactly just how many will be wearing the lids as yet so maybe difficult to do ;)
-
Ring ever Saturday and Sunday for me ;)
-
If you have room you should have a net, where people can try out the stuff.
-
Yes, and a cafeteria where they can buy refreshments, a lounge where they can play X-box whilst they wait, two topless receptionists and a free beer fountain.
-
Or better a type of cricket ball gun so you can fire balls at their head whilst they are wearing a masuri Albion then an ayrtek to see if they can feel the difference and to prove your point genius

No complimentry biscuits or cake fattus? ;)
-
Not with topless receptionists - I'd be too distracted.
-
And goats, just for no reason
-
Not big enough for a net I'm afraid but does it's job at the moment for us, not sure the receptionists will go down to well with the WAGs tho!!
-
Little update of Ayrtek HQ....still some work to be done but atm we are being kept busy by demand for the product so will find time to pimp out the office when we cool down a bit.
As the says in MTV Cribbs....this is where the magic happens lol

-
the lazy boy is at home mate u know that!!! yeh no room for a net im afriad :( would be great for testing though but will settle for using the performance centre in l'boro instead lol

-

-
i dont no if its beeen previously mentioned in the topic as i havent had chance to read through it all, just stumbled across the topic and thought id add the idea of a possible indoor net ? have samples of each piece of equipment for people to try out ? it could be ideal for when trying on pads etc
-
it has been mentioned mate the office isnt big enough to house one of these as its approx 1000 sq feet in size....sotrgae downstairs and office upstairs....maybe when we expand again we will get one put in ;)
